Comparision Between Bernie Madoff and Congress

So Simple a caveman could understand:

Why did Bernie Madoff go to prison? To make it simple, he talked people into investing with him. Trouble was, he didn't invest their money. As time rolled on he simply took the money from the new investors to pay off the old investors. Finally there were too many old investors and not enough money from new investors coming in to keep the payments going.

Next thing you know Madoff is one of the most hated men in America and he is off to jail. Some of you know this. but not enough of you.

Madoff did to his investors what the government has been doing to us for over 70 years with Social Security. There is no meaningful difference between the two schemes, except that one was operated by a private individual who is now in jail, and the other is operated by politicians who enjoy perks, privileges and status in spite of their actions.

"The taxpayer: That's someone who works for the federal government but doesn't have to take the civil service examination."- Ronald Reagan

"If you put the federal government in charge of the Sahara Desert, in five years there’d be a shortage of sand." - Milton Friedman

One Christian Pastor's Manifesto

I received the following from a Christian Pastor and Army Veteran, in fact a Silver Star winner from Vietnam, who clearly understands the threat of the secular progressive movement combined with socialism demonstrated by our current administration.

Christians who sincerely believe in God's revelation of Himself in Jesus Christ as revealed by the Bible and preached in the church have to do a lot of soul-searching as they vote for candidates and their political parties on November 2.

Every vote counts and God is keeping a record of our voting. There are consequences to our voting for candidates who obviously and intentionally represent the forces of evil and openly mock and ridicule the God of our Christian faith. We should willingly and lovingly vote for candidates who weigh their decisions in the light of our Christian faith and the long established Judeo-Christian principles of our Founding Fathers.

Our votes determine who governs America, and the majority is entrusted by "we the people" to govern America with our consent, and I will honor the concept. However, I will fight with all of my power to be a voice of opposition to the political party and its elected officials and their destructive "goals for America. I am going to be a thorn in the side of those who, if left unchecked, will destroy our Country. The following is what I have come to oppose:

I oppose the anti-God value system that has been slowly imposed of us for the future of America.

I oppose the view that America is not a Christian Nation.

I oppose abortions and the use of tax money to pay for abortions.

I oppose the view that the military should be reduced by 25% and withdrawn from foreign countries.

I oppose the acceptance of homosexuality, marriage of homosexuals, and gays openly serving in the military.

I oppose the process and content by which our healthcare system has been reworked and forced on us.

I oppose raising taxes on those who make $250,000+ that will restrict job growth.

I oppose the view of unrestricted amnesty for illegal immigrants.

I oppose the radical Socialistic-Marxist's concept of redistribution of wealth, and given to those who refuse to work.

I oppose the view that America is arrogant and should apologize for its leadership in the world.

I oppose the view that radical Islam is our friend and Israel is our enemy.

I oppose our appeasing strategic views of the Middle East countries leaders.

I oppose the willingness to dialogue with terrorist regimes without any prior conditions.

I pray that the results of this election will wake up many who have sat on the sidelines and allowed the anti-GOD and Marxist-Socialistic crowd to slowly change so much of what has been good in America ! Become active in your local political activities, and witness to the values and principles of your Christian faith. Instead of supporting those who oppose God, join with other Christians and honor God with your votes that will praise God, who will bless you and give you His peace and joy.

God bless you and God bless our United States of America.

Ben Stein - from CBS on Sunday Morning

Unless we start to change the direction this Country is heading, starting tomorrow, the Secular Progressives and Socialists are going to set not only the political and economic agenda of this Country, but the Cultural aspects as well.

The following was written by Ben Stein and recited by him on CBS Sunday Morning Commentary.

My confession:

I am a Jew, and every single one of my ancestors was Jewish. And it does not bother me even a little bit when people call those beautiful lit up, bejeweled trees, Christmas trees... I don't feel threatened.. I don't feel discriminated against.. That's what they are, Christmas trees.

It doesn't bother me a bit when people say, 'Merry Christmas' to me. I don't think they are slighting me or getting ready to put me in a ghetto. In fact, I kind of like it. It shows that we are all brothers and sisters celebrating this happy time of year. It doesn't bother me at all that there is a manger scene on display at a key intersection near my beach house in Malibu .. If people want a creche, it's just as fine with me as is the Menorah a few hundred yards away.

I don't like getting pushed around for being a Jew, and I don't think Christians like getting pushed around for being Christians. I think people who believe in God are sick and tired of getting pushed around, period. I have no idea where the concept came from, that America is an explicitly atheist country. I can't find it in the Constitution and I don't like it being shoved down my throat.

Or maybe I can put it another way: where did the idea come from that we should worship celebrities and we aren't allowed to worship God as we understand Him? I guess that's a sign that I'm getting old, too. But there are a lot of us who are wondering where these celebrities came from and where the America we knew went to.

In light of the many jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this is a little different: This is not intended to be a joke; it's not funny, it's intended to get you thinking.

Billy Graham's daughter was interviewed on the Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her 'How could God let something like this happen?' (regarding Hurricane Katrina).. Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response.. She said, 'I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives. And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out. How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?'

In light of recent events... terrorists attack, school shootings, etc.. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O'Hare (she was murdered, her body found a few years ago) complained she didn't want prayer in our schools, and we said OK. Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school. The Bible says thou shalt not kill; thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said OK.

Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children when they misbehave, because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock's son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he's talking about.. And we said okay..

Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.

Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with 'WE REAP WHAT WE SOW.'

Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says. Funny how you can send 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing. Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace.

Are you laughing yet?

Funny how when you forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it.

Funny how we can be more worried about what other people think of us than what God thinks of us.

Pass it on if you think it has merit.

If not, then just discard it... no one will know you did. But, if you discard this thought process, don't sit back and complain about what bad shape the world is in.

My Best Regards, Honestly and respectfully,

Ben Stein
