Tea Party Targets Republican Old Guard?

From an ABC news article posted on Yahoo! News, we "learn" of a Tea Party Republican Hit List for 2012 , supposoedly targeting "moderate" Republicans. The article, short as it is in length, is immediatley below, followed by comments:

Spinners and Winners

In Texas, conservative Ted Cruz is looking for a Marco Rubio-esque victory. Like Rubio, Cruz came out of nowhere to challenge an established Republican candidate for the Senate nomination.

The similarities are striking: Rubio's father came from Cuba to the U.S. in 1958 and got a job as a bartender; Cruz's father came from Cuba in 1957 and got a job washing dishes; Rubio is 40, Cruz is 41; Rubio took on a powerful governor, Cruz is taking on a powerful lieutenant governor.

Ted Cruz is the whole package, says Matt Kibbe, president of FreedomWorks, a conservative group with links to the Tea Party. "He's got the values, he's got the resume of someone that has always fought for these ideas, he's got the charisma, and he's willing to burn a little shoe leather getting elected and it's got to be that combination." Cruz has already raised $4 million - a staggering sum for an underdog.

Conservative activists are also trying to topple Senators Orrin Hatch and Richard Lugar, the two most senior Republicans in the Senate. In Indiana, State Treasurer Richard Mourdock is looking to take down Lugar. Over in Utah, recently resigned State Senator Dan Liljenquist is trying to topple Hatch.

These battles pit Republican against Republican, which have the potential to hurt the party's chances of taking back the Senate.

"Well sometimes you got to clean house," said Kibbe. "Sometimes you got to bring in new energy. If you have a firm that's failing, sometimes you go to bring in new management, new ideas, that's what we're doing."

It's a Tea Party's power test, whether any of these three end up in the U.S. Senate.

Cowboy's comments: I'll have to admit when I first stumbled across the title to this article I expected some Bull Crap from ABC about Republicans tearing the party apart, etc. Actually, it's a benign article, however it is now really a test of the Tea Partie's power to elect new comers over estabished Republicans icons. It will be more a test of the People's will to save the country across the entire country. But for one thing the Republican Party is not timid in brusing debates between candidates so the people can tell their stances apart on the issues and get the measure of the candidate.

In the on-line version, at the time I read the article there were over 4,200 comments and not surprisingly most of them were comments like, "through all the bums out", "what about term limits for everyone?",
"All the Parties need to be cleaned up! Corruption is the norm now", "Career politicians are the ones that caused this mess!" and hands down my favorite, which sums up what I wanted to say in the first
place,. ......"There are term limits in any society such as ours. It is called get off your butt and vote." - thanks to RD from Buckfield, Maine.

25 Great Truths

1. In my many years I have come to a conclusion that one useless man is a shame, two is a law firm and three or more is a congress. - John Adams

3. Suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were a member of Congress. But then I repeat myself. - Mark Twain

And there is more,.....

1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.

2. What one person receives without working for...another person must work for without receiving.

3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.

5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work, because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work, because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation!

Where DID All The Money Go?

How The $825 Billion Stimulus Was Spent In Your State Over The Past Three Years. We'll start listing the major waste and abuse with all the States that begin with an "A".

ALABAMA
$400,000 For Highway “Beautification Project.” “The city of Hoover will get $400,000 in federal stimulus money for a landscaping and beautification project at the Interstate 65 and U.S. 31 interchange, city officials learned this week. The project will be paid completely with federal funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, according to the Alabama Department of Transportation. The city will not be required to provide any matching funds for the project.” (Staci B. Brooks, “Hoover To Get $400,000 In Federal Stimulus Money For Landscaping,” The Birmingham News, 7/8/09)

ALASKA
$15 Million To Construct Airport In Village Of Ouzinkie With 165 Residents. “The village of Ouzinkie is one of the remotest outposts in the United States—home to a mere 165 people on an island off another island off the coast of Alaska. There are no stores, no gas stations and no stoplights. Yet the village will soon be home to a new $15 million airport paid for by taxpayers under the federal stimulus package.” (Michael Grabell, “Tiny Airports Take Off With Stimulus,” Pro Publica, 7/13/09)

$13.9 Million To Replace Airport In Akiachak With 660 Residents. “The second calls for spending $13.9 million to replace the airport in Akiachak, a remote Yup’ik Eskimo village in western Alaska with a population of around 660.” (Michael Cooper, “Inspector General Questions Value Of Some Airport Stimulus Projects,” The New York Times, 8/11/09)

ARIZONA
$950,000 To Study The Genetic Makeup Of Ants. "Half a million dollars went to Arizona State University to study the genetic makeup of ants to determine distinctive roles in ant colonies; $450,000 went to the University Of Arizona to study the division of labor in ant colonies." ("Senate GOP Point Out 'Pure Waste' Found In Stimulus Package," The Hill, 12/8/09)

Stimulus Funds Spent To Build “Bat-Friendly Cupolas And Desert Tortoise Fencing…” “By the administration's calculations, recovery act money created or saved almost 400 jobs in the county while providing money for projects ranging from bat-friendly cupolas and desert tortoise fencing...” (Mark Duncan, “Stimulus Report Card: Where Did All The Mohave County Money Go?” Kingman Daily Miner, 1/23/12)

ARKANSAS
$2.5 Million For The Clinton Presidential Library. “A historic bridge at Bill Clinton's presidential center in Little Rock is slated to get $2.5 million of federal stimulus money from Arkansas's share of the funds.

Members of the Arkansas congressional delegation sought an $8 million legislative earmark for the bridge this year, without success. But after Congress authorized the $787 billion stimulus package in February, representatives of the William J. Clinton Foundation contacted Mr. Beebe's office, according to Matt DeCample, the governor's spokesman, and spoke with Mr. Beebe's recovery director and ombudsman to suggest the bridge project receive funds from Arkansas's share.” (Louis Radnofsky, “Clinton Site Gets A Taste Of The Stimulus Pie,” The Wall Street Journal, 9/30/09)

$13,000 For A Sculpture To Decorate Fort Smith High School. “A large piece of art amidst the extensive renovation at Southside High School in Fort Smith is part of an effort to change the appearance of the ‘factory-like’ main building at the high school. The cost of the sculpture and surrounding area, which was designed by Fort Smith architect Tim Risley, is $13,000, according to information from the school district. The cost of the renovation of the high school — which includes new sidewalks, landscaping, lighting, parking lots — is around $2.6 million. The school district says 80% of the funds are federal stimulus dollars.” (“Large Art Structure Part Of High School Renovation,” The City Wire, 8/5/09)

Thanks to the Republican National Committee for their research and bringing wastefull stimulus spending to the light of day. You won't see this information in any legacy news media reports.

It's Not a Social Issue!

Recently I was listening to Talk Show radio covering the upcoming Michigan and Arizona Republican Presidential Primaries, mainly between former Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA) and former Governor Mitt Romney (R-MA). The host was saying that these two candidates as well as the Republican leadership in Congress are making a mistake when they call out Obama on social issues, where in the host’s view, they should be concentrating on the economy.

The host saying it was a losing strategy to bang on Obama for trying to make religious institutions pay for birth control for the employees, and of course Obama rapidly backed up on that saying that instead the (evil) insurance companies will foot the bill to provide free contraceptives. For one point none of us believe that this is free in the first part – the insurance companies will pass of those costs in higher premiums to all, including the people who religious beliefs are contrary to birth control. Before you know it, it’ll be mandatory “free’ abortions.

But here’s a thought I heard on a different talk show,…..what if medical researchers found a “gay gene” which unborn babies could be tested for? Whould these liberals still be for open abortions for all? Or would they further expose their radical leftwing agenda and make some rule where abortions are okay as a means of birth control except where you want an abortion on a unborn child who has a Gay gene.

But I digress,…..the point is that the Conservative upset on Obama’s call for religious institutions to directly or indirectly fund the pill against their religious beliefs it not necessarily a social issue. It is a Constitutional issue because of, one – the direct assault on the first amendment, and two – a usurpation of powers to the executive office which are, frankly, like a Central American dictatorship.

And this is not like the first time it has happened in the last three years or since Obama took the oath of office. Obama has unconstitutionally created Czars; used stimulus funds to run conservatives out of the retail car market; ordered and/or allowed the Justice Department to let federal criminals go unpunished (such as the Black militants threatening voters in PA) and instead focused on suing the states who won’t accept either Obama’s incompetence or attacks on the Constitution. Obama gave us Obamacare,….you have to pass the bill to see what’s in it? Are you kidding me? Now we have see some of what is in it and are disgusted by it.

We have seen anti-business regulation after regulation; Obama putting this country's very security at risk with his anti-drilling and anti-pipeline positions he takes. He gave us Solyndra,….$550 million for a bankrupt company. Obama’s further violations include declaring himself, absence of congress'es approval, when congress is in session or not, then making appointments of his anti-business buddies to run the Consumer Protection Agency.

For God’s sake now we have USDA inspectors in elementary school telling mothers what makes a nutritious lunch?

Nope.....these are Constitutional issues. One man or one branch of office does not have these powers. The Democrats controlled Congress for his first two years, and who now control just the Senate, are allowing him to do this. Damn right we need to make this an issue come the late summer.

Outraged

I'm pretty damn outraged on several issues this morning. One that President Obama apologizes to Afghan President Karazi about the US Military burning a few Korans, and that Obama is trying to escape any blame for the rising gas prices (it's Bush's fault don't you know).

On the same day that saw two American soldier murdered when an Afghan soldier turned his weapon on them at a base in eastern Nangarhar, President Obama apologizes for the U.S. Military burning a few Korans that were not only defaced by Muslim prisoners, but whose religion Islam calls for the burning of defaced Koran's much like American's do with old, tattered U.S. Flags. Unbelievable.

By the way,....where has the President been since Iran gave out a death sentance to an Iranian who converted to Christianity and refuses to denounce Jesus Christ? Obama silence on this incredible travesty of human and religious rights is telling, but not suprising since the Left has been trying to get Christianity out of the U.S. for several decades now, so why stand up for it over seas? Anyone remember Obama saying "This is not a Christian Nation?"

Then we have the Imperial Clown in Chief spinning and twisting the facts about rising oil and gas prices to avoid any responsibility......Gas prices have doubled since Obama's became President. Oil drilling has increased but only on private lands, like in North Dakota, despite this Administration's efforts to derail new drilling. Drilling on Federal lands, incidentally owned by the People and not the Adminstration, are way down as permits for off shore drilling are down and hard to get. Yet this
Administration, from President Obama, to his court jester press secretary Jay Carney, deflect blame and call for more (wasted) money to go to alternative energy sources. What?!?! Does the name Solyndra remind anyone of anything?

Where are Obama’s girl friends?

WHERE ARE THE GIRLFRIENDS of OBAMA? This could have been entitled, "Who Knows Obama?", but since the e-mail I received came across with the girlfriends title, that's what we're running with,......

The e-mail starts: I hadn't thought about this - but where are O's past girlfriends - surely he had at least one? No past girlfriends popping up anywhere? Strange - strange to the point of being downright weird!

OK, this is just plain old common sense, no political agendas for either side. Just common knowledge for citizens of a country, especially American citizens, who know every little tidbit about every other president (and their wives) and even know that Andrew Jackson's wife smoked a corn cob pipe and was accused of adultery, or that Lincoln never went to school or Kennedy wore a back brace or Truman played the piano.

We are Americans! Our Media vets these things out! We are known for our humanitarian interests and caring for our 'fellow man.' We care, but none of us know one single humanizing fact about the history of our own president.

Honestly, and this is a personal thing ... but it's bugged me for years that no one who ever dated him ever showed up. Taken his charisma, which caused the women to be drawn to him so obviously during his campaign, looks like some lady would not have missed the opportunity....

We all know about JFK's magnetism, McCain was no monk, Palin's courtship and even her athletic prowess were probed. Biden's aneurisms are no secret. Look at Cheney and Clinton--we all know about their heart problems. How could I have left out Wild Bill before or during the White House?

Nope... not one lady has stepped up and said, "He was soooo shy," or "What a great dancer!"

Now look at the rest of what we know... no classmates, not even the recorder for the Columbia class notes ever heard of him.

Who was the best man at his wedding? Start there. Check for groomsmen. Then get the footage of the graduation ceremony.

Has anyone talked to the professors? Isn't it odd that no one is bragging that they knew him or taught him or lived with him.

When did he meet Michele and how? Are there photos? Every president provides the public with all their photos, etc. for their library. What has he released? Nada - other than what was in this so-called biography! And experts who study writing styles, etc. claim it was not O's own words or typical of his speech patterns, etc.

Does this make any of you wonder?

Ever wonder why no one ever came forward from Obama's past, saying they knew him, attended school with him, was his friend, etc.?

Not one person has ever come forward from his past.

Cowboy's comment: If you remember the public got to see George Bush's college transcipts,....his military officer evaluations,....his DUI arrest paperwork,....and person after person from his past were interviewed.

This should really be a cause for great concern. Did you see the movie titled, The Manchurian Candidate?

Let's face it. As insignificant as we all are... someone whom we went to school with remembers name or face...someone remembers we were the clown or the dork or the brain or the quiet one or the bully or something about us.

George Stephanopoulos, ABC News said the same thing during the 2008 campaign. Even George questions why no one has acknowledged that the president was in their classroom or ate in the same cafeteria or made impromptu speeches on campus. Stephanopoulos was a classmate of Obama at Columbia-class of 1984. He says he never had a single class with him.

Cowboy's comment: George Stephanopoulos is a die hard Democrat. For someone with his non-hidden, pro-democrat, anti-republican agenda to question this is an eye opener.

Since he is such a great orator, why doesn't anyone in Obama's college class remember him? And, why won't he allow Columbia to release his records? Do you like millions of others, simply assume all this is explainable - even though no one can?

NOBODY REMEMBERS OBAMA AT COLUMBIA

Looking for evidence of Obama's past, Fox News contacted 400 Columbia University students from the period when Obama claims to have been there, but not one remembers him. For example, Wayne Allyn Root was (like Obama) a political science major at Columbia , who graduated in 1983. In 2008, Root says of Obama, "I don't know a single person at Columbia that knew him, and they all know me. I don't have a single classmate who ever knew Barack Obama at Columbia ... EVER!

Nobody recalls him.

Root adds that he was, "Class of '83 political science, pre-law" and says, "You don't get more exact or closer than that. Never met him in my life, don't know anyone who ever met him."

At our 20th class reunion five years ago, who was asked to be the speaker of the class? Me. No one ever heard of Barack! And five years ago, nobody even knew who he was. The guy who writes the class notes, who's kind of the, as we say in New York, 'the macha' who knows everybody, has yet to find a person, a human who ever met him."

Obama's photograph does not appear in the school's yearbook, and Obama consistently declines requests to talk about his years at Columbia , provide school records, or provide the name of any former classmates or friends while at Columbia .

How can this be?

NOTE: Wayne Allyn Root can easily be verified. He graduated valedictorian from his high school, Thornton-Donovan School , then graduated from Columbia University in 1983 as a Political Science major in the same '83 class in which Barack Hussein Obama states he was in.

Some other interesting questions.

Why was Obama's law license inactivated in 2002?

Why was Michelle's law license inactivated by court order?

According to the U.S. Census, there is only one Barack Obama - but 27 Social Security numbers and over 80 aliases.

The Social Security number he uses now originated in Connecticut where he is never reported to have lived.

No wonder all his records are sealed!

Please continue sending this out to everyone. Somewhere, someone had to know him in school...before he "reorganized" Chicago and burst upon the scene at the 2004 Democratic Convention and made us swoon with his charm, poise, and speaking pizzazz.

One of the biggest CONS this country has ever seen, and they are getting away with it.

The Joke on President's Day

A friend of mine sent me this link to an article entitled Bad Week for Freedom

Unfortunantley it came when we are celebrating President'sDay - a day to honor not only our founding fathers who gave us this great Nation and the Constitution, but to also honor all President's past and present. Yes, that is supposed to mean even honoring men we have placed in the Oval Office who have neglected the Constitution and have even damaged our country. We can only hope that the people recognize the damage done and can see the direction the current Administration is taking this country then vote this clown act out of office. We can hope that the excessive regulation, high unemployment rate, off the charts national debt, incredibly high (and climbing higher) gasoline prices will be the price we pay to get this country back,....because if we don't change direction, another four years of this will destroy our country,...it will destroy us economically and destroy the very fabric this country is wrapped in,...freedom.

Key Points from the article referenced above - please go read it in it's entirety.

With each passing week it seems this country spirals further into the depths of a frightening dystopian fantasy reminiscent of Huxley and Orwell’s dark world of isolation, fear and government brutality portrayed in their masterpieces Brave New World and 1984. I keep speculating whether it’s me that’s crazy and not the things I’m witnessing on a daily basis. The President signs the National Defense Authorization Act, passed by an overwhelming majority of Congress, which allows the government to imprison American citizens indefinitely without charge. And there is barely a squeak from the docile masses as they are soothed by Obama promising to never use that part of the law. I bet you $10,000 a President will invoke that portion of the NDAA in the very near future.

Jon Corzine, a card carrying member of the ruling elite .01%, remains free to roam one of his five palatial estates after stealing $1.6 billion from the accounts of farmers, widows, and thousands of other
“clients” of MF Global. In his spare time he raises money for Obama’s re-election campaign.

The Wall Street banks that committed the largest financial crime in history, including: fraud in the inducement, forgery, fabricating documents, bribing rating agencies to rate toxic mortgages as AAA, selling fraudulent derivatives to customers, shorting the derivatives they sold to their customers, throwing millions of Americans out of their homes, charging inflated and bogus fees during the foreclosure process, and conducting a colossal cover-up, were slapped on the wrist and made to pay a miniscule $5 billion to the millions of victims of their crimes. Not one banker has been prosecuted. Not one person has gone to jail. Justice in this country is a putrid joke. There has been no outrage from the general public.

“Free” Healthcare. While this travesty of justice was playing out, we were treated to a glimpse into the future of healthcare in America administered by politicians and bureaucrats based upon vote count expediency. The government drones at Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) mandated from on high that every woman in America would receive “free” contraceptives from their employers.

Obama had made this decision and instructed his minions to implement his visionary dictate. The outrage and anger from religious groups and employers was instantaneous. Obama saw the 2012 election slipping away and reversed course within a day. He is quite the man of principle. His
“solution” was to force insurance companies to provide “free” contraception to any employee of a religious employer that didn’t provide that coverage in their insurance plan.

Oh, and speaking of fraud: Remember Obama’s assertion about his government takeover of healthcare: “As a consequence of the Affordable Care Act, premiums are going to be lower than they would be otherwise; health care costs overall are going to be lower than they would be otherwise.”

“In our age there is no such thing as ‘keeping out of politics.’ All issues are political issues, and politics itself is a mass of lies, evasions, folly, hatred and schizophrenia. The very concept of objective truth is fading out of the world. Lies will pass into history.” – George Orwell

The Real Unemployment Rate

If you believe the unemployment rate is 8.3% then you have been fooled, says the latest article by Forbes.

Forbes says the unemployment rate is really 11%. Here is how they come to that conclusion:

* In January 2009, labor force participation rate was 65.7%.
* It was still 65.7% in June 2009 when they said the recession ended.
* The latest rate is 63.7% = 5 million Americans no longer counted.
* If those 5 million are counted, we have 11% unemployment.
* If the January 2012 report had the same participation rate as December 2011, the unemployment rate would have risen to 8.7%.

The time has come to begin to raise questions about the precipitous decline in the labor force assumed by Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). Are the career bureaucrats there partial to President Obama, and favorable towards promoting his political chances for reelection? Or has the Obama Administration placed someone in a leadership slot over at the BLS or the unemployment statistics branch that is imposing this assumed sharp decline? Because of the oddness of this record setting decline, coinciding with President Obama’s ascension to office, these questions bear further investigation.

Here is the unemployment rate by demographic:

* Blacks: 13.6%
* Hispanics: 10.5%
* Teenagers: 23.2%
* Black Teenagers: 40%

To grade Obama, it is best to see how this "recovery" compares to others.

* Average length of a recession: 10 months, we are now at 50 months.
* Obama boasts about 250,000 jobs created. Reagan routinely created 1 million jobs.
* Can't blame Bush because history shows the steeper the recession, the stronger the recovery.
* After 2.5 years: Reagan created 8 million jobs and unemployment dropped 3.6%

Again, that website is here.

Response to the Entitlement Movement

Good visual response, through a poster, to the Entitlement Movement, otherwise known as the Occupy Movement. You could easily replace the 20 years olds in the World War II picture with 20 year olds serving in Afghanistan and the message would still be the same. But the question begs to be asked: "How are these entitlement babies created?"

Catching Pigs

There was a chemistry professor in a large college that had some exchange students in the class. One day while the class was in the lab, the professor noticed one young man, an exchange student, who kept rubbing his back and stretching as if his back hurt. The professor asked the young man what was the matter. The student told him he had a bullet lodged in his back. He had been shot while fighting communists in his native country who were trying to overthrow his country's government and Install a new communist regime.

In the midst of his story, he looked at the professor and asked a strange question. He asked: "Do you know how to catch wild pigs?"

The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punch line.

The young man said that it was no joke. "You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come every day to eat the free corn.

"When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place where they are used to coming. When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up another side of the fence.

"They get used to that and start to eat again. You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in the last side.

"The pigs, which are used to the free corn, start to come through the gate to eat that free corn again. You then slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd. Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They run around and around inside the fence, but they are caught. Soon they go back to eating the free corn. They are so used to it that they have forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity."

The young man then told the professor that is exactly what he sees happening in America.

Just Doesn't Add Up

Obama's 2013 Budget. Really all we need to know is that Obama proposes to spend $3.8 Trillion against incoming revenues of $2.9 Trillion. Really.

Of course this adds almost one trillion to the already $15 + Trillion national debt. In fact, in his 2013 budget a full 7% of the budget is just for interest on that debt. That's like a family with a monthly income of $4,000 paying $280 a month just on credit card interest, not mind you, any reduction of the existing balance.....just paying on the interest - starting to become an Obama thing.

And of course Obama's budget does not address any reforms or restructuring of Social Security or Medicare.....both which are supposed to tank (read: go bankrupt) within the next 10-20 years depending upon who figures you use.

Obama's presents this budget with words like "reining in our deficits is not an end in itself but a necessary step to rebuilding a strong foundation so our economy can grow and create good jobs."

Are you kidding me Mr. President? What you say and what you do are two different things. How is spending almost a Trillion more than we are bringing in "reining in our deficits?",.....how does "deficit spending" create new jobs?

Arkansas Coach writes to ABC

Sent to me by a Patriot, thought it would be good to post on this site,...especially in light of the recent Administration assault on the 1st Amendment.......

My name is Jim Neugent. I wrote to ABC (on-line) concerning a program called 'THE PRACTICE." In last nights episode, one of the lawyer's mothers decided she is gay and wanted her son to go to court and help her get a marriage license so she could marry her 'partner.' I sent the following letter to ABC yesterday and really did not expect a reply, but I did get one.

My original Letter was:

ABC is obsessed with the subject of homosexuality. I will no longer watch any of your attempts to convince the world that homosexuality is OK. ' THE PRACTICE' can be a fairly good show, but last night's program was so typical of your agenda. You picked the 'dufus' of the office to be the one who was against the idea of his mother being gay, and made him look like a whiner because he had convictions. This type of mentality calls people like me a 'gay basher.'

Read the first chapter of Romans (that's in the Bible); and see what the apostle Paul had to say about it..... He, God and Jesus were all 'gay bashers'. What if she'd fallen in love with her cocker spaniel? Is that an alternative life style? (By the way, the Bible speaks against that, too.)

Here is ABC's reply from the ABC on-line webmaster:

How about getting your nose out of the Bible (which is ONLY a book of stories compiled by MANY different writers hundreds of years ago) and read the declaration of independence (what our nation is built on), where it says 'All Men are Created equal,' and try treating them that way for a change!

Or better yet, try thinking for yourself and stop using an archaic book of stories as your lame crutch for your existence. You are in the minority in this country, and your boycott will not affect us at ABC or our freedom of statement.

Jim Neugent's second response to ABC:

Thanks for your reply. From your harsh reply, evidently I hit a nerve. I will share it with all with whom I come in contact. Hopefully, the Arkansas Democrat Newspaper will include it in one of their columns and I will be praying for you.

- Jim Neugent -

Final note from Jim Neugent:

Note: Wouldn't Satan just love it if people stopped using the Bible for a crutch?

Man of man, we should be so grateful for all this Hope and Change.

Young Lady's Perspective on Welfare

Wow, this girl has a great plan! Love the last thing she would do as it is long overdue.

This was written by a 21 yr old female who gets it. It's her future she’s worried about and this is how she feels about the social welfare big government state that she’s being forced to live in! These solutions are just common sense in her opinion. This was in the Waco Tribune Herald, Waco, TX Nov 18, 2010

Put me in charge.....

Put me in charge of food stamps. I'd get rid of Lone Star cards; no cash for Ding Dongs or Ho Ho's, just money for 50-pound bags of rice and beans, blocks of cheese and all the powdered milk you can haul away. If you want steak and frozen pizza, then get a job.

Put me in charge of Medicaid. The first thing I'd do is to get women Norplant birth control implants or tubal ligations. Then, we'll test recipients for drugs, alcohol, and nicotine. If you want to reproduce or use drugs, alcohol, or smoke, then get a job.

Put me in charge of government housing. Ever live in a military barracks?

You will maintain our property in a clean and good state of repair. Your "home" will be subject to inspections anytime and possessions will be inventoried. If you want a plasma TV or Xbox 360, then get a job and your own place.

In addition, you will either present a check stub from a job each week or you will report to a "government" job. It may be cleaning the roadways of trash, painting and repairing public housing, whatever we find for you We will sell your 22 inch rims and low profile tires and your blasting stereo and speakers and put that money toward the “common good..”

Before you write that I've violated someone's rights, realize that all of the above is voluntary. If you want our money, accept our rules.. Before you say that this would be "demeaning" and ruin their "self esteem," consider that it wasn't that long ago that taking someone else's money for doing absolutely nothing was demeaning and lowered self esteem.

If we are expected to pay for other people's mistakes we should at least attempt to make them learn from their bad choices. The current system rewards them for continuing to make bad choices.

AND while you are on Gov’t subsistence, you no longer can VOTE! Yes that is correct. For you to vote would be a conflict of interest. You will voluntarily remove yourself from voting while you are receiving a Gov’t welfare check. If you want to vote, then get a job.

Conservative's Alienating Hispanics?

I read a recent article highlighting that the Republican Candidates are alienating Hispanics. The article alluded to most of the candidates stances on the path to citizenship issue for illegal aliens already in this country.

In major Hispanic states like New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, Florida and Texas some pundits are speculating that Republicans may only garner 8% of the Hispanic vote.

While it is true that during the Republican primary, candidates tend to run to the far right to attract their base, New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez, a Republican, has warned the candidates to watch what they say and how they say it. I don't think there is a Republican candidate who favors letting illegals go to the front of the citizenship line, however, I think all candidates support fast track citizenship for aliens who honorable serve in the military.

Hispanics will account for roughly 30 percent of the population by 2050, doubling their political power. In 2008, President Barack Obama's won 67 percent of the Hispanic vote in the general election to 31 percent for Republican John McCain. Compare that to 2004 when Democratic nominee John Kerry won Hispanics by 53 percent to 44 percent for Bush, a Texan who focused heavily on attracting Hispanics.

You know, I have to agree that Republicans are alienating some Hispanics. They are alienating the ones who think it is their right to immigrant illegally; steal identities; sign up for and obtain welfare in many different forms that they did not contribute to; and protests at events carrying Mexican flags.

The Hispanics that Conservatives are not alienating believe in family values; individual responsibility; and, that the U.S. provides "a right to pursue happiness" not a "right to happiness".

Ask N.M. Governor Susana Martinez, FL Senator Marco Rubio and Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval, to name a few, on why they are conservatives as opposed to being Democrats.

Ginsberg's Defining Moment

Indeed, a defining moment for the current Administration who no doubt think the same way.

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg took her work break visiting a couple North African countries including Egypt where she dissed the U.S. Constitution by saying "she would not look to the United States Constitution" as an example from which to build democracy in Egypt.

Giving a speech at the University of Cairo law school. Ginsberg said "This is the most wonderful time in which to live and be among the young people who are helping your country and bringing about change during this exceptional transitional period to a real democratic state". Ginsburg went on saying "Think of the people who lived before you and did not have this opportunity because they lived under a dictatorial regime."

Madame Clueless made these comments after weeks of fear and speculation of radical Islamists, including the Muslim Brotherhood, seized power.

Watch the short video below. I say, if you don;t like the U.S. Constitution, then maybe you'll like living under Egypt's and wearing a burka while you read it.

Monday Morning Politics - But a New Game on Thursday

After Nevada. The headlines after Nevada were Romney wins Nevada, Gingrich vows to stay in the race. After it was all said and done, Romney had 48 percent of the vote, Newt Gingrich had 23 percent, Ron Paul had 19 percent and Rick Santorum had 11 percent. This is a clear cut victory for Romney, but it means more that Gingrich and Santorum are runing out of money, than it does that Romney has won 3 out of 5 states as of Monday.

Many more states to go, and the safe bet is on Romney to eventually be the Republican nominee,...maybe after 2 more states or it may take 6 more. But he certainly has the momentum, the organization and the money to come out on top.

Then comes Wednesday night with Santorum winning Minnesota, Missouri and Colorado,...three out of three states. Is this a game changer? I think what will change for sure is the main target of attacks for next two weeks. Hope Rick Santorum is prepared for this.

One more thing for sure,...Santorum now has the wins and the numbers to call on Newt to get out of the race as Gingrich did to him after Newt's South Carolina. That would certainly give Santorum a bump going into the next set of states.

Oh and Ron Paul? He said the results from last night "mixed things up" in the Republican primary. Really? Ron Paul has not won a state and his highest finish is second place,..usually fourth place.

Minnesota results:

Rick Santorum 45%
Ron Paul 27%
Mitt Romney 17%
Newt Gingrich 11%

Missouri results:

Rick Santorum 55%
Mitt Romney 25%
Ron Paul 12%
Newt Gingrich was not on the

Colorado results:

Rick Santorum 40%
Mitt Romney 35%
Newt Gingrich 13%
Ron Paul 12%

Proposed U.N. Treaties Undermines U.S. Interests

Dick Morris alerts us to four U.N. Treaties that President Obama is about to sign. Morris states that Obama is about to cede fundamental U.S. interest in a permanent fashion, as Morris states once the treaties are signed a subsequent Republican President could not undo them. This real stinks! The only permanent government document should be the Constitution - and this Administration would change that too if they could.

International Criminal Court Treaty. On the surface, establishing more world courts to go after and prosecute people for genocide seems like a good idea, but when the criminal act of "aggression" is included which is defined at going to war without approval of the U.N. you start to see a very stupid idea. Remember Russia and China just veto'ed a resolution calling for the resignation of President Assad, who has ordered the murder of thousands of his Syrian countrymen.

Law of the Sea Treaty. This idiotic idea is that nations give up 50% of their off shore oil and gas drilling profits to a fund managed by members from 160 countries who will in urn decide on which country gets the money. Worldwide socialism! Oh by the way, this treaty also requires us to share oil and gas drilling technology.

Small Arms Treaty, which should be called "Universal Worldwide Gun Control" treaty. This requires every member country to "crack down" on gun owners to ensure guns are not exported. Of course criminal organizations, terrorist groups, and countries like Russia and China will be exempt from or otherwise held unaccountable. This is a thinly veiled attempt by Liberals to get gun control on the books when they know they could never get it passed through congress.

Rights of Children Treaty. Who could be against ensuring children had rights? No one, as this is meant to fight child prostitution and other crimes against children. But when you look at adding requirements or restrictions on education, religion schooling and parent discipline this treaty takes our children away from us and outs them in a collective straight from the old Soviet Union.

UNBELIEVABLE! Plain and simple,...we need to get ut of the U.N. and get the U.N. out of the United States.

Go to Dick Morris' site and watch the video on these treaties.

More Outrage

Suspended Teachers Still Collect Salaries. I was looking on information on a particular New York teacher who was reported to have been suspended for the last 10 years and still drawing a six digit salary and would soon receive $100,000+ annual pension upon retirement. As I was researching this I stumbled across a called "Teachers Unions Exposed" which says it more clearly than I can.

According to Teachers Unions Exposed one out of every 57 doctors loses his or her license to practice medicine; One out of every 97 lawyers loses their license to practice law.....but in many major cities, only one out of 1000 teachers is fired for performance-related reasons. Why? Tenure...and Union protection.

One of the most scandalous manifestations of teacher tenure was the so-called “Rubber Rooms” of New York City. According to The New York Daily News, at any given time an average of 700 teachers were being paid not to teach (they instead reported to “rubber rooms”) while the district jumped through the hoops (imposed by the union contract and the law) needed to pursue discipline or termination. A city teacher in New York that ends up being fired will have spent an average of 19 months in the disciplinary process. The Daily News reported that the New York City school district spent more than $65 million annually paying teachers accused of wrongdoing, in addition to the cost of hiring substitutes.

Again that site is Teachers Unions Exposed - go there at the risk of getting real mad.

Football Legends Sue League and Owners. Another thing that pisses me off is Professional athletes complaining about their job. If you don't like it then find something else to do,...there are many people, probably as talented, waiting in the wings to take your place. If the movie "The Replacements" is any sign, they'll be more entertaining too!

I was hoping that the NBA could not comes to terms,..the issue was how much revenue (besides salaries mind you) that the players shared in. They were about to cut off their own nose to spite their collective faces because the owners were offering something like 49% and the players wanted 51%. I will not ever in my life watch a professional basketball game because of this.

I was hearing Hall of Famer Tony Dorset speaking for 300 ex-pro football players that are suing the league (the NFL) and the owners for not taking enough reasonable care to limit or reduce injuries or severity of injuries received playing ball. I couldn't believe it! This is football buddy. People get hurt. In war, people get maimed and killed. You are paid an enormous amount of money to play a sport. While teachers,...good teachers,...languish in many states below $50K a year.

Boy do we have our priorities mixed up,.....entertainment then education. That's like the Democrats putting ideology before the Nation's best interests.

PARAPROSDOKIANS

Winston Churchill reportedly loved paraprosdokians, which are figures of speech in which the latter part of a sentence or phrase is surprising or unexpected, and frequently humorous.

Wikipedia definition: A paraprosdokian is a figure of speech in which the latter part of a sentence or phrase is surprising or unexpected in a way that causes the reader or listener to reframe or reinterpret the first part. It is frequently used for humorous or dramatic effect, sometimes producing an anticlimax. For this reason, it is extremely popular among comedians and satirists. Some paraprosdokians not only change the meaning of an early phrase, but they also play on the double meaning of a particular word, creating a form of syllepsis.

1. Where there's a will, I want to be in it.

2. The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But it's still on my list.

3. Since light travels faster than sound, some people appear bright until you hear them speak.

4. If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

5. We never really grow up, we only learn how to act in public.

6. War does not determine who is right - only who is left.

7. Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.

8. They begin the evening news with 'Good Evening,' then proceed to tell you why it isn't.

9. To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism. To steal from many is research.

10. Buses stop in bus stations. Trains stop in train stations. On my desk is a work station.

11. I thought I wanted a career. Turns out I just wanted paychecks.

12. In filling out an application, where it says, 'In case of emergency, notify:' I put 'DOCTOR.'

13. I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.

14. Women will never be equal to men until they can walk down the street with a bald head and a beer gut, and still think they are sexy.

15. Behind every successful man is his woman. Behind the fall of a successful man is usually another woman.

16. A clear conscience is the sign of a fuzzy memory.

17. You do not need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute to skydive twice.

18. Money can't buy happiness, but it sure makes misery easier to live with.

19. There's a fine line between cuddling and holding someone down so they can't get away.

20. I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure.

21. You're never too old to learn something stupid.

22. To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first and call whatever you hit the target.

23. Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

24. Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.

25. Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than standing in a garage makes you a car.

26. Where there's a will, there are relatives.

Politics as Usual

Fast and Furious Update. The Justice Department (what an ineptly named organization by the way) is at it again. Eric Holder continues to deny involvement and knowledge of Fast and Furious, despite e-mails and documents to the contrary. The Justice Department and not so coincidentally a report from Democrats came out exonerating the Justice Department and blaming the Phoenix office of the ATF. Holder continues to hold out on some 80,000 e-mails that Congress is requesting.

There is still hope that justice will be found. The family of slain Border Patrol agent Brian Terry sued the Federal Government over Brian's death from one of thousands of guns that the Justice Department facilitated to be exported to the Mexican Cartels. Additionally, besides the Representative Issa (R-CA), Congress also has a young Congressman from South Carolina named Trey Gowdy, a former prosecutor now hot on the trail to get to the truth about one of the biggest blunders, and now cover ups, in Federal history.

Obama's Religious Hypocrisy. President Obama spoke at the 60th annual National Prayer Breakfast. Obama spoke about his Christian beliefs for both politics and his personal life (but to be sure, some people still think he is not a Christian). Obama turned this morning of religious unity into a stump speech trying to make the point that his design to raise taxes on the wealthiest Americans, ram down health mandates usurping individual freedoms and other anti-business economic decisions were, in fact, grounded in his faith.

“I think to myself, if I’m willing to give something up as somebody who’s been extraordinarily blessed, and give up some of the tax breaks that I enjoy, I actually think that’s going to make economic sense,” Obama told the audience. “But for me, as a Christian, it also coincides with Jesus’s teaching that ‘for unto whom much is given, much shall be required."

Well if you want to pay more fine - pay more. But don;t be using our money to fund your radical agenda and failed economic agenda. This is a matter of freedom and the very existence of our government. For Obama to use religion to try and justify his freedom killing beliefs is just pathetic.

Will you be able to retire?

Have you seen the Fidelity commercial where the investor under Fidelity guidance follows a green (get it green?..... like money) path? Well get ready the follow the red path, courtesy of the U.S. Government over the incredibly buffoonish way of handling our social security nest egg. Simply due to the dire straits this country is in financially, social security solvency will not be an issue in the very near future either.

Did you hear Obama speak of Social Security during the State of the Union? Of course, while add to his woes?

President Barack Obama, in his State of the Union speech, didn’t really touch on the subject near and dear to the hearts of millions of Americans — the State of Retirement in the U.S. No doubt he had other pressing matters to address. So allow us the pleasure of issuing — thanks in large part to a many experts on the topic — our State of Retirement column.

Things are bad and, in the absence of action or in the presence of the ill-advised action, could get much worse.

Matthew Greenwald, the president of Matthew Greenwald & Associates, a leading
retirement research firm, say's “I think the state of retirement in America is endangered as the ‘Great Recession’ has taken a toll on the financial status of many and as retirement savings were not adequate for many prior to the ‘Great Recession. There are several things that need to be fixed, including addressing Social Security and helping people feel confident in the viability of the system, more effective defined-contribution plans that do a better job of encouraging participants to defer more of their income and more effective advice to retirees that helps them use their financial assets most effectively when they retire.”

Read the entire article on Social Security here.
