Looting the Treasury

One of the last acts of government before a Nation falls is to loot the treasury. That's not much of a gauge for the U.S. since government officials have been looting the treasury for decades.
Sometimes it seems just to be earmarks for a union or other organizations so the politician can be taken care of when they leave office,.....but it brings new meaning to the word "looting"
when government officials, such as political appointees in the White House, fail to pay federal income tax. You got to hand it to these people, finding ways to get it at both ends.

Wonder why the government has not put a lien on the paychecks of the Executive office personnel delinquent on their taxes? Hmmmmm,....

The following article was published on Yahoo! Finance under the title "Thousands of federal workers owe back taxes" by Ken Thomas of the Associated Press - see the original article (without my cynical lead in) here.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama has preached that all Americans should pay their fair share in taxes, but a government report finds that tens of thousands of federal employees — from staffers in Congress to federal agencies and even Obama's executive office — collectively owe the government billions in back taxes.

Data from the Internal Revenue Service found that more than 279,000 federal employees and retirees owed $3.4 billion in back income taxes as of Sept. 30, 2010.

The data showed that 467 employees of the House of Representatives, or about 4.2 percent of the workforce, owed more than $8.5 million. In the Senate, 217 employees, or about 3 percent of the workforce, owed $2.13 million.

Obama's staff was not immune, either, with 36 people in Obama's executive office of nearly 1,800 workers — about 2 percent — owing the government $833,970 in back taxes. Obama used part of his State of the Union address Tuesday night to promote economic fairness, arguing for changes in the tax code that would create a minimum tax rate of at least 30 percent on anyone making more than $1 million. The finances of one of his chief Republican rivals, Mitt Romney, has been scrutinized because he, like many millionaires, pays a lower rate because most of his income came from investments, which are taxed at a lower rate.

The IRS report attracted the attention of Republicans, who said it undercut the president's argument on taxes. "If Obama wants people to pay their 'fair share,' perhaps he should start with his own staff,"tweeted Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus.

White House officials noted that the delinquency rate among executive office staff had fallen from nearly 3 percent in 2008. In 2009, 41 employees in the president's executive office owed about $830,000, representing about 2.3 percent of its workforce.

Governor Jan Brewer - You Go Girl!

Dear Mr. President,

Welcome to Arizona!

You‘ve arrived in a state at the forefront of America’s recovery — and her future. We were at the brink. We were at the bottom of the list in job creation. Today, we have a balanced budget and we’re in the top 10 for job creation.

I’m proud of that hard-won recovery — the result of many tough decisions, courage and perseverance.

My hope is while you are here you will have a chance to see our tremendous results first hand.

We both love the great country, but we fundamentally disagree on how to best make America grow and prosper once again. I‘d love an opportunity to share with you how we’ve been able to turn Arizona around with hard choices that turned out to be the right ones.

And, of course, my offer to visit the border — and buy lunch — still stands!

With respect, Jan

While the media reported this as a hostile encounter in which Governor Brewer was disrespectful to the President, both Obama and Brewer describe it as something different, although the picture is worth a thousand words. The obvious comments are:
1 - What big cajones Obama must have to fund raise in a state he has directed the Attorney General to sue.
2 - Obama continues to demonstrate an ineptness to lead or even to manage, as he prefers to spew forth campaign slogans and promises while failing to do anything except move this country towards the brink of economic collapse,...never mind securing the borders.
3 - Compare Obama's and the Democrat's national efforts (or non-efforts) to Arizona (and Texas) with balanced budgets, and economic/job growth.Mr. President,....you don't need the comparisons!  With the States or Governor Brewer.

Black Quill's Obama Watch

A reader sent us a link to Black Quill and Ink to check out what they are doing to expose President Obama and his administration's apparent disdain for the U.S. Constitution.

Reader here need to go to the original site, where they can see first hand what Black Quill and Ink writes and the supporting videos which are pretty damning.

Some snippets of what Black Quill and Ink (BQI) say's about Obama are:

Mainstream Liberal Media. Since his declaration to run for President of the United States, Obama has been and remains an unknown, an oddity to the American public. Although much information existed about then candidate Obama the media refused to investigate and report. Rather, they elected to become partisan Obama supporters, taking extraordinary steps to protect and promote his candidacy. The net result of this misfeasance was the election of the most radical president in American history.

Exposing Obama.. Much of who Obama is now is on display in his socialist policies and big government agenda. However, to ensure America votes this time with an informed ballot Obama and his agenda must be put on full display. In other words, the Obama puzzle must be assembled and once done America will see just how dangerous Obama is for America.

The Plan To Desensitize America – Preparing for Constitutional Violation and Martial Law. In a recently published BQI article; The Left’s Attack on the Constitution, we attempted to make the case that the country is being set up for a major assault on the Constitution. Through a series of speeches, statements and recommendations from ardent Obama supporters and Obama himself, the plan for Obama’s reelection or more accurately, take over of the presidency, is crystallizing.

Loss of Individual Freedoms. In our most read article, EXTRA: Obama Suspends Civil Liberties, we provided a hypothetical situation where Obama would use crisis to institute martial law. At the time of its publication this possibility was, to say the least, somewhat radical. How times have changed. Over a year later we now see, increasingly, more and more authors describing the exact scenario offered in our 2010 hypothetical case; the institution of martial law by Obama is gaining traction and becoming a more realistic possibility.

Martial Law. To enable Obama to initiate such action (Martial Law), it is obvious that Americans have to be conditioned to accept such an act. Americans have to be led to believe that there are some situations where the president must disregard the Constitution for the greater interest of the country. To achieve this mental conditioning on Americans it means that efforts must be put forth to create a false impression of the importance and relevance of the Constitution. Americans must be conditioned to view the Constitution as a less than adoring and admiring document or certainly that it is not a legitimate or relevant document to the challenging times that we face today. To achieve this it makes sense that Americans are presented with a slow and methodical deconstruction of the Constitution’s legitimacy or relevance by people who otherwise are viewed as either experts or who people see as trusted or committed to the nation’s welfare. What crisis could inspire a presidential order of martial law?

Potential Scenarios. We believe that the national crisis that could rise to the level of an American call for Presidential action in the form of national martial law imposition would likely be either one of two scenarios:

1. A complete economic financial breakdown. This action could lead to massive civil unrest that could cause Obama to suspend 2012 elections and thus remain President.
2. The holding of 2012 elections that result in the election of a Republican (conservative) President. The left could very well allege some form of voter fraud that could then lead to massive riots and civil unrest. Obama steps in, declares the election results suspended and institutes martial law to address the crisis.

Wow! This is one site conservatives must come back to time and time again, even if you don't agree with what Black Quill and Ink writes,..at least they provide food for thought, and of course we're hoping they are wrong as the consequences of Black Quill being right are terrible for this country.

Obama Exploitation of Buffet's Secretary Fails

Alternative Title:  Class Warfare Again?  Are You Kidding Me?
During Tuesday night's State of the Union address, President Obama, showcased his class warfare rhetoric, not to mention exposing the direction of his 2012 campaign, by trying to highlight the "Rich paying less than their fair share, while workers pay more than their fair share" argument. Using the taxes and wages of his pal, Warren Buffet and Buffet's secretary (Debbie Bosanek) as an example, and with Buffet and Bosanek sitting in the audience, Obama railed on how unfair it was for a worker like Bosnaek to pay more in taxes than Buffet who is a billionaire. Obama then put a minimum percentage on the amount of taxes the ultra-rich should pay - 30 percent - which is now being called the Buffet rule.

There are several billionaires saying how un-fair it is that they pay less in taxes than workers. Not only is this untrue, but if they want to pay more, then pay it. Do you need a special invitation!

But yet again Obama uses selective facts and does not present all the truth to make his point.

While it is reportedly true that Bosanek pays a tax rate of 35.8 percent of income, while Buffett pays a rate at 17.4 percent, Buffet's income comes mostly from investment income where the capital gains tax rate is much, much lower than the rate on straight salary, such as Bosanek's. So after all, Bosanek's income places her in the top 1, 2 or 3 % of Americans, just the people who Obama's wants to pay more.

Buffet's say's: "I don't pay hardly any payroll taxes, while Gov. Romney hardly pays any payroll taxes." If Buffet's paid more taxes on his investment income, taxed at the lower capital gains tax, he would have much less money to create jobs with. This is the argument that the Liberals just don't understand.

"I just feel like an average citizen. I represent the average citizen who needs a voice," said Bosanek. "Everybody in our office is paying a higher tax rate than Warren ."

Well if you are over taxed then why did you and your husband buy another house this year? You want people to feel sorry for you?

Where all of this leads is to a fair tax conclusion. Of course, fair in Republican eyes is much different than what's fair in the eyes of Socialists, Democrats and Progressives,....there I go again, being redundant,...I should have just said Liberals.

If we all paid a flat tax rate, wouldn't that be fair? Let's take 10% off the top from everyone. Then everyone has "buy-in" for this country. The 49% not paying any taxes, but drinking at the government entitlement trough will of course fight this,....cause it's unfair.

Just as a comparison, Mitt Romney paid around $3 million in taxes last year. Is this enough?

Oxygen Thieves

I wanted to introduce the term "Oxygen Thieves". These are people who serve no positive purpose other than exposing the fact that really stupid people exist, using oxygen intended for productive people.

There really are people who think the government owes them. They have long been a large base of the Democratic Party, which of course fuels the dependence on government handouts and the crying shame of it all is that these people,...these anti-American people, are funded by you and me!

I have a sign for these idiots,...it says one word "Morons!"

Hockey Player Stands on His Beliefs

In this day and age of Professional Athletes holding out for tons of money (to play a sport no less) or shooting someone, or getting caught using drugs, it is refreshing to find someone willing to stand and take some skunk for his convictions....enter Professional Hockey’s Boston Bruins Goalie Tim Thomas.

Tim Thomas was the only Boston Bruins player from their 2011 Stanley Cup championship team that chose not to attend a White House celebration of their achievement. Cam Neely, the Bruins' team president, cited Thomas's "own opinions and political beliefs" for that absence.

On the official Facebook page for Tim Thomas — his other page is for his hockey camps — the Bruins goalie and playoff MVP clarified his absence from the White House event:

"I believe the Federal government has grown out of control, threatening the Rights, Liberties, and Property of the People. "This is being done at the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial level. This is in direct opposition to the Constitution and the Founding Fathers vision for the Federal government.

"Because I believe this, today I exercised my right as a Free Citizen, and did not visit the White House. This was not about politics or party, as in my opinion both parties are responsible for the situation we are in as a country. This was about a choice I had to make as an INDIVIDUAL.

"This is the only public statement I will be making on this topic. TT"

Something tells me that with Thomas slated to appear in the 2011 NHL All-Star Game this weekend, this might not be the only public statement he'll make on this controversy. It's overshadowed the Bruins' visit to the White House. It'll likely do the same for Thomas's participation in the midseason classic.

"As an organization we were honored by President Obama's invitation to the White House. It was a great day and a perfect way to cap our team's achievement from last season. It was a day that none of us will soon forget. We are disappointed that Tim chose not to join us, and his views certainly do not reflect those of the Jacobs family or the Bruins organization. This will be the last public comment from the Bruins organization on this subject."

From Comes From South Carolina

Nobody can saw they weren't suprised by New Gingrich's big victory in Saturday's South Carolina Republican primary. As it turned out Newt had almost a 14% margin over everyone's front runner Mitt Romney. Rick Santorum decivisely came in third over Ron Paul. The final vote percentages:

Newt Gingrich
40.4%

Mitt Romney
27.9%

Rick Santorum
17.0%

Ron Paul
13.0%

Herman Cain
1.1%

So what does this mean in the grand scheme of selecting a Republican to run against President Obama?

Well, a couple facts are:

After three primaries, we have three different winners.

South Carolina was unique because Democrats could, like Iowa, vote for Republicans producing mixed  results.

And again after three primaries, only 2% of the national delegates have been selected. Hardly a reason to declare a winner. It will come down to money. Who has the money to stay in. Romney certainly,...maybe Gingrich,...probably not Santorum,.....and who knows about Paul, surely he knows he is not a viable candidate and only remains in the race either for his ego or to influence the debate and party planks. Which is actually a good thing with his doomsday talk on the economy. Here's a hint,...it really is doomsday, hence the need to change out the Senate and the Executive Office with new employees.

Heading into the Florida primary, where Romney was previously favored, the race is still wide open. There will be calls for Santorum to get out of the race and throw his weight behind Newt, but I don't think he is ready to do that, nor will he do it, just yet anyway.

Another thing that came as a result of Romney's defeat was the issue of his tax returns becoming if not just a distraction, then a cause for voters to back Newt or Santorum. Romney has realized this,..has called it a mistake not to release before now, and will work to get his tax records out to the public. The public should not let tax rates, tax shelters or anything legal in Romeny's tax records influence them one way or another. We have too many pressing issues before us than to hold success and wealth against Romney. Anyone remember Obama's sweet heart real estate deal from Rezco?

The Gun Is Civilization

THIS IS MAKING THE ROUNDS THROUGH THE E-MAIL NET AND IS ONE OF THE BEST WORDED PRO-GUN ARGUMENT I HAVE EVER READ. Very good article, and of course, from a United States Marine!

As the Supreme Court heard arguments for and against the Chicago, IL Gun Ban, this man offered you another stellar example of a letter (again, written by a Marine), that places the proper perspective on what a gun means to a civilized society.

Interesting take and one you don't hear much. . . . . .Read this eloquent and profound letter and pay close attention to the last paragraph of the letter....

"The Gun Is Civilization" by Maj. L. Caudill USMC (Ret)

Human beings only have two ways to deal with one another: reason and force. If you want me to do something for you, you have a choice of either convincing me via argument, or force me to do your bidding under threat of force. Every human interaction falls into one of those two categories, without exception. Reason or force, that's it.

In a truly moral and civilized society, people exclusively interact through persuasion. Force has no place as a valid method of social interaction and the only thing that removes force from the menu is the personal firearm, as paradoxical as it may sound to some.

When I carry a gun, you cannot deal with me by force. You have to use reason and try to persuade me, because I have a way to negate your threat or employment of force.

The gun is the only personal weapon that puts a 100-pound woman on equal footing with a 220-pound mugger, a 75-year old retiree on equal footing with a 19-year old gang banger, and a single guy on equal footing with a carload of drunken guys with baseball bats. The gun removes the disparity in physical strength, size, or numbers between a potential attacker and a defender.

There are plenty of people who consider the gun as the source of bad force equations. These are the people who think that we'd be more civilized if all guns were removed from society, because a firearm makes it easier for a [armed] mugger to do his job. That, of course, is only true if the mugger's potential victims are mostly disarmed either by choice or by legislative fiat--it has no validity when most of a mugger's potential marks are armed.

People who argue for the banning of arms ask for automatic rule by the young, the strong, and the many, and that's the exact opposite of a civilized society. A mugger, even an armed one, can only make a successful living in a society where the state has granted him a force monopoly.

Then there's the argument that the gun makes confrontations lethal that otherwise would only result in injury. This argument is fallacious in several ways. Without guns involved, confrontations are won by the physically superior party inflicting overwhelming injury on the loser.

People who think that fists, bats, sticks, or stones don't constitute lethal force, watch too much TV, where people take beatings and come out of it with a bloody lip at worst. The fact that the gun makes lethal force easier works solely in favor of the weaker defender, not the stronger attacker. If both are armed, the field is level.

The gun is the only weapon that's as lethal in the hands of an octogenarian as it is in the hands of a weight lifter. It simply wouldn't work as well as a force equalizer if it wasn't both lethal and easily employable.

When I carry a gun, I don't do so because I am looking for a fight, but because I'm looking to be left alone. The gun at my side means that I cannot be forced, only persuaded. I don't carry it because I'm afraid, but because it enables me to be unafraid. It doesn't limit the actions of those who would interact with me through reason, only the actions of those who would do so by force. It removes force from the equation... and that's why carrying a gun is a civilized act.

By Maj. L. Caudill USMC (Ret.)

So, the greatest civilization is one where all citizens are equally armed and can only be persuaded, never forced.

And Then There Were Four

Wow! Who watched the CNN hosted debate in South Carolina last night? The headlines are all over the place.

”Perry Drops Out – Support to Newt” probably best for the Texas Governor to join Huntsman on the also ran list, as previous support for him has dwindled from his first announcement a few months back and is already divided between Gingrich and Santorum. However, most of us enjoyed his last couple of debates just to hear his qips.

”Newt fires back in Debate” reference Gingrich’s scolding of the CNN moderator at the very beginning of the debate Regarding Newt’s ex-wife, Marianne’s interview about his “open” marriage and mistress. Newt said it was despicable to open the debate with questions about his former marriage.   The crowd sure agreed.

”Did Santorum perform well enough to win in S.C?” Rick Santorum gained some support from the character and family values voters, but did he do enough to convince GOP primary voters that he has the experience and mettle to deal with the economy? I think he does.  He gets more and more of my respect and support every time he debates.

"Romney pressured to release Tax Returns” Santorum and Paul are on record as candidate tax returns not being a big deal. Gingrich had his people post his returns on the internet just as the debate started and Newt is the loudest voice in the contest calling for Romney’s release of tax returns.  Seems kinda out of place to me, asking for records,  when we don’t have any information on President Obama. If I were one of the Republican candidates, I would say that I would release everything,…tax filings, school transcripts, medical reports, travel history,…everything, once Obama did the same. That should quell the debate at least with fair minded people.

It will be interesting to see where the candidates place in South Carolina . It looks like Newt is gaining some ground. I don’t think the ex-wife’s interview will displace any support since the conservative bloc, who runs the character-family values issue as a number one priority, is already supporting Santorum. But still, Newt will end up much closer to Romney than Romney considers comfortable.

This is all good for the country, especially when Gingrich admonished Santorum to get out of the race since he diluting the deep conservative vote and Santorum responded, "Why don’t you get out? I’m the one who won 1 of 2 states so far."  These debates let the voters see who they would prefer.  If most people are like me, I am constantly my favorites - Cain to Gingrich to Santorum,...maybe back to Newt.  The bottom line is that any of them are better for this country than our current President.

Freedom and Jeff

This is the kind of story you need when it seems like the world is spiraling out of control.....

Freedom and Jeff

Freedom and I have been together 11 years this summer. She came in as a baby in 1998 with two broken wings. Her left wing doesn't open all the way even after surgery, it was broken in 4 places. She's my baby. When Freedom came in she could not stand and both wings were broken. She was emaciated and covered in lice. We made the decision to give her a chance at life, so I took her to the vet's office. From then on, I was always around her. We had her in a huge dog carrier with the top off, and it was loaded up with shredded newspaper for her to lay in. I used to sit and talk to her, urging her to live, to fight; and she would lay there looking at me with those big brown eyes. We also had to tube feed her for weeks.

This went on for 4-6 weeks, and by then she still couldn't stand. It got to the point where the decision was made to euthanize her if she couldn't stand in a week. You know you don't want to cross that line between torture and rehab, and it looked like death was winning. She was going to be put down that Friday, and I was supposed to come in on that Thursday afternoon.

I didn't want to go to the center that Thursday, because I couldn't bear the thought of her being euthanized; but I went anyway, and when I walked in everyone was grinning from ear to ear. I went immediately back to her cage; and there she was, standing on her own, a big beautiful eagle. She was ready to live. I was just about in tears by then. That was a very good day. We knew she could never fly, so the director asked me to glove train her. I got her used to the glove, and then to jesses, and we started doing education programs for schools in western Washington . We wound up in the newspapers, radio (believe it or not) and some TV. Miracle Pets even did a show about us.

In the spring of 2000, I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. I had stage 3, which is not good (one major organ plus everywhere), so I wound up doing 8 months of chemo. Lost the hair - the whole bit. I missed a lot of work. When I felt good enough, I would go to Sarvey and take Freedom out for walks. Freedom would also come to me in my dreams and help me fight the cancer. This happened time and time again.

Fast forward to November 2000 the day after Thanksgiving, I went in for my last checkup. I was told that if the cancer was not all gone after 8 rounds of chemo, then my last option was a stem cell transplant. Anyway, they did the tests; and I had to come back Monday for the results. I went in Monday, and I was told that all the cancer was gone.

So the first thing I did was get up to Sarvey and take the big girl out for a walk. It was misty and cold. I went to her flight and jessed her up, and we went out front to the top of the hill. I hadn't said a word to Freedom, but somehow she knew. She looked at me and wrapped both her wings around me to where I could feel them pressing in on my back (I was engulfed in eagle wings), and she touched my nose with her beak and stared into my eyes, and we just stood there like that for I don't know how long . That was a magic moment. We have been soul mates ever since she came in. This is a very special bird.

On a side note: I have had people who were sick come up to us when we are out, and Freedom has some kind of hold on them. I once had a guy who was terminal come up to us and I let him hold her. His knees just about buckled and he swore he could feel her power course through his body. I have so many stories like that..

I never forget the honor I have of being so close to such a magnificent spirit as Freedom. Hope you enjoyed this!

But they that wait upon the Lord
shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings as eagles;
they shall run, and not be weary;
and they shall walk, and not faint.

President wants More Power

Found the topic for this post from an article on Yahoo!

The Department of Commerce will celebrate its 109th anniversary this year, having been created in 1903. And if President Obama gets his way , the agency won't make it much past 110. Announcing last week that he is seeking authority to streamline the executive branch, President Obama said he needs the same kind of "authority that every business owner has to make sure that his or her company keeps pace with the times. And let me be clear: I will only use this authority for reforms that result in more efficiency, better service, and a leaner government." Never mind what the Constitution says.

As an example, the president wants to shut down the Department of Commerce, taking its core functions and giving them to a new agency that will also fold in the tasks of the Small Business Administration, the U.S. Trade Representative, the Overseas Private Investment Corporation, the Trade and Development Agency and the Export-Import Bank.

The problem is that Obama is not shrinking government, he is consolidating power. We drastically need a much smaller government and for that government wort work within the enumerated powers outlined in the Constitution rather than what a group of elite politicans think this country should look like.

This is the same President who recently said that he will go around Congress and did so when he unconstitutionally declared Congress in recess then made four political appointments.

The President said of his grab for additional powers: "This is a big idea."
Big Idea? Nope. Big departure from the constitution and big step for the administration to control more power? Yes, absolutely.

"We live in a 21st century economy, but we've still got a government organized for the 20th century," President Obama said this morning. "Our economy has fundamentally changed - as has the world - but the government has not. The needs of our citizens have fundamentally changed but their government has not. Instead, it has often grown more complex."

Economy fundamentally changed? Yes as a matter of fact. From production and manufacturing to services and an entitlement society.

The American people are going to be seeing alot more of this from President Obama as he recognizing his has to make a big departure, a radical azimuth change from the past years in order to get elected again. But all the clues are there. The way he thinks he can make presidential declarations and executive orders to take this country towards an European look alike My God, this is the president that gave us,..what?,....30+ Czars?? The greatest expansion of government in history. The first credit downgrade in history,.....and lets not forget about the biggest federal debt in history!

Who Is Rick Santorum?

Rick Santorum, former Senator from Pennsylvania, has recently been doing well with conservatives from Iowa to New Hampshire to South Carolina and certainly helped himself out with a strong showing on last night's Republican debate. He's more conservative than Romney,....more disciplined than Newt,...... less bombastic than Rick Perry, and see's the world and the threat much more clearly than Jughead,...err,...Ron Paul. From Rick Santorum's website, we can get a better idea on who Rick Santorum is and his direction for America:

Rick Santorum believes that to have a strong national economy, we must have strong families. America’s government must recognize this and help create a positive pro-family environment for our families, our communities and our businesses. Rick believes we are a land of opportunity where all Americans have the chance to rise on their own merits and hard work.

Sadly, President Obama believes just the opposite and using class warfare to divide America.

Rick Santorum is committed to celebrating the family by reviving our economy and creating jobs in America again with a smarter and simpler tax code. Santorum will roll back job-killing regulations, force the federal government to shrink and live within its means by passing a Balanced Budget Amendment and reinvigorate our domestic manufacturing and energy potential. His vision for America is to restore America's greatness through the promotion of faith, family and freedom.

Some Politicians Understand the Marines Pissing on Dead Taliban

I recently wrote that I thought I was the only one keeping the "urination on dead Taliban" issue in perspective. Since then, two politicians, Texas Governor Rick Perry and Florida Congressman Allen West see it similar:

Perry said it would be "over the top" to file criminal charges against four US Marines who urinated on dead militants in Afghanistan. "These kids made a mistake, there's not any doubt about it, but the idea that this administration would go after these young people for a criminal act is, again, over the top."

The US military has launched a high-level investigation and the four Marines have been questioned, while US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have both expressed dismay at the acts and vowed that the culprits would be punished. We wouldn't expect anything better coming from Hillary Clinton and Leon Panetta.

Perry, a former US Air Force pilot, described President Obama's administration's military policy as "disdain for the military... whether it's the secretary of state or whether it's the secretary of defense. "Did (the four US Marines) make a mistake? Absolutely. Should they be reprimanded and appropriately punished? Yes. But going after them as a criminal act I think sends a really bad message."

Perry recalled how General George Patton, during World War II, urinated in the Rhine River during the allied offensive push into Nazi. British Prime Minister Winston Churchill reportedly did the same thing on the famous German defense fortification line called the Siegfried Line" to show contempt for the Nazis.

Allen West (R-FL) and a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel say's it better, in part: "I don't remember any press indignation when our Delta snipers Shugart and Gordon had their bodies dragged through Mogadishu (Somalia 1993). As for everyone, unless you have been shot at by the Taliban, shut your mouth, war is hell.”

South Carolina - What Can We Expect?

As you can expect, there is a wide variance between polls on the Republican candidates going into the
South Carolina primary.

The latest blended poll numbers has it like this:

Mitt Romney                            29%

Newt Gingrich                          23%

Ron Paul (Mr Potatoe Head)  17%

Rick Santorum                         12%

Rick Perry                                 7 %

Jon Huntsman                           4 %

Well, this is what I think we can expect:

Romney and Santorum will do better than the latest polling data. Romney on the strength of his front runner status (and ad money) and Santorum because he picked up the endorsement of evangelicals in a state where 1 in 2 voters believe faith is very important in character, and character very important for their political
leaders to have.

Gingrich will do slightly worse, as well as Paul. Leaving Perry to pickup a few points and Huntsman to get about what he deserves,...around 3%.

I expect the finishers to be Romney, Santorum, Gingrich, Paul, Perry then Huntsman. Perry could surprise us on the strength of his last couple of interviews ashe came off bashing Romney for his Bain experience and generally hasn't said anything outrageous. Anyway, look for Santorum to place second and continue on to Florida, where the Sunshine State probably won't be seeing anymore of Huntsman.

If Gingrich and Perry both get out of the race, look for the vast majority of their support to go to Santorum - that would make the race interesting giving some hope for a non-Romney candidate.

Peeing on Dead Terrorists

I am the only guy out there that finds the event where a supposedly a U.S. Marine Corps Scout-Sniper team peed on the bodies of some Taliban they killed as unbefitting the amount of press and reaction it is getting?

Sure, the act of peeing on dead people, whether they were intent on killing you or not is stupid, and really not what or how you think professionals would do. Memorializing the act with a video was stupid as well. It was colossally stupid to post the video on YouTube. The video is going to be used as a recruitment tool for Islamic terrorists everywhere and specifically in Afghanistan and make dealing with Afghan President Karazi much more difficult.

To see the liberal press make this out to be a giant and heinous crime is to be expected. However, to see Department of Defense officials, including Marine Corps officers elbowing each other out of the way so they can be the first to condemn this act and promise justice for the officers, just makes me sick. Let’s keep this in perspective.

What is a more heinous crime – strapping bombs to women, children and killing indiscriminately or peeing on an already dead boyd, and one that was previously trying to kill you? Where is the moral outrage from the press on terrorist attacks?

When the Prisoner abuse” scandal broke about Abu Gharib, the liberal press was blaming then President Bush. Let’s see if the liberal media will blame President Obama over these Marines pissing on dead terrorists. Clearly, Abu Gharib was not President Bush’s fault, nor were these Marines acting under Obama’s order to pee on dead Taliban.

Those Taliban terrorists being pissed on were not moving, they were bleeding and in fact not breathing ,....that’s what the FBI calls a clue. They were dead. That means they didn’t feel one golden drop. I’m saying that because before you know it the liberal mainstream media (there I go again being redundant - liberal and mainstream media being the same),..anyway, before you know it the mainstream media will be charging those Marines with torture, specifically water boarding those dead scumbags.

During the Philippine Insurrection, General Pershing reported had Muslim bandits buried with pig entrails - of course making these Muslim corpses unclean and unfit for ascendancy into Muslim heaven where of course the virgins were waiting. That's what we ought to be doing today.

What if he's right?

I hope you find the time to read this with an open mind. It's interesting. Please read it with the open mind rather than immediately breaking it down into left or right, but rather look at it from the neutral viewpoint of right or wrong. It's like the line below says, "what if he is right?" Take the three minutes to read this. Maybe he is wrong, but what if he’s right?

David Kaiser is a respected historian whose published works have covered a broad range of topics, from European Warfare to American League Baseball. Born in 1947, the son of a diplomat, Kaiser spent his childhood in three capital cities: Washington D.C. , Albany , New York , and Dakar , Senegal ... He attended Harvard University , graduating there in 1969 with a B.A. in history. He then spent several years more at Harvard, gaining a PhD in history, which he obtained in 1976.. He served in the Army Reserve from 1970 to 1976.

He is a professor in the Strategy and Policy Department of the United States Naval War College . He has previously taught at Carnegie Mellon, Williams College and Harvard University . Kaiser's latest book, The Road to Dallas , about the Kennedy assassination, was just published by Harvard University Press.

History Unfolding by Dr. David Kaiser

I am a student of history. Professionally, I have written 15 books on history that have been published in six languages, and I have studied history all my life. I have come to think there is something monumentally large afoot, and I do not believe it is simply a banking crisis, or a mortgage crisis, or a credit crisis. Yes these exist, but they are merely single facets on a very large gemstone that is only now coming into a sharper focus..

Something of historic proportions is happening. I can sense it because I know how it feels, smells, what it looks like, and how people react to it.. Yes, a perfect storm may be brewing, but there is something happening within our country that has been evolving for about ten to fifteen years. The pace has dramatically quickened in the past two.

We demand and then codify into law the requirement that our banks make massive loans to people we know they can never pay back? Why?

We learned just days ago that the Federal Reserve, which has little or no real oversight by anyone, has "loaned" two trillion dollars (that is $2,000,000,000,000) over the past few months, but will not tell us to whom or why or disclose the terms. That is our money.. Yours and mine. And that is three times the $700 billion we all argued about so strenuously just this past September. Who has this money? Why do they have it? Why are the terms unavailable to us? Who asked for it? Who authorized it? I thought this was a government of "we the people," who loaned our powers to our elected leaders. Apparently not.

We have spent two or more decades intentionally de-industrializing our economy... Why?

We have intentionally dumbed down our schools, ignored our history, and no longer teach our founding documents, why we are exceptional, and why we are worth preserving. Students by and large cannot write, think critically, read, or articulate. Parents are not revolting, teachers are not picketing, school boards continue to back mediocrity. Why?

We have now established the precedent of protesting every close election (violently in California over a proposition that is so controversial that it simply wants marriage to remain defined as between one man and one woman. Did you ever think such a thing possible just a decade ago?) We have corrupted our sacred political process by allowing unelected judges to write laws that radically change our way of life, and then mainstream Marxist groups like ACORN and others to turn our voting system into a banana republic. To what purpose?

Now our mortgage industry is collapsing, housing prices are in free fall, major industries are failing, our banking system is on the verge of collapse, social security is nearly bankrupt, as is Medicare and our entire government. Our education system is worse than a joke (I teach college and I know precisely what I am talking about) - the list is staggering in its length, breadth, and depth.. It is potentially 1929 x ten...And we are at war with an enemy we cannot even name for fear of offending people of the same religion, who, in turn, cannot wait to slit the throats of your children if they have the opportunity to do so.

And finally, we have elected a man that no one really knows anything about, who has never run so much as a Dairy Queen, let alone a town as big as Wasilla , Alaska .. All of his associations and alliances are with real radicals in their chosen fields of employment, and everything we learn about him, drip by drip, is unsettling if not downright scary (Surely you have heard him speak about his idea to create and fund a mandatory civilian defense force stronger than our military for use inside our borders? No? Oh, of course. The media would never play that for you over and over and then demand he answer it. Sarah Palin's pregnant daughter and $150,000 wardrobe are more important.)

Mr. Obama's winning platform can be boiled down to one word: Change.. Why?

I have never been so afraid for my country and for my children as I am now.

This man campaigned on bringing people together, something he has never, ever done in his professional life. In my assessment, Obama will divide us along philosophical lines, push us apart, and then try to realign the pieces into a new and different power structure. Change is indeed coming. And when it comes, you will never see the same nation again.

And that is only the beginning..

As a serious student of history, I thought I would never come to experience what the ordinary, moral German must have felt in the mid-1930s In those times, the "savior" was a former smooth-talking rabble-rouser from the streets, about whom the average German knew next to nothing. What they should have known was that he was associated with groups that shouted, shoved, and pushed around people with whom they disagreed; he edged his way onto the political stage through great oratory. Conservative "losers" read it right now.

And there were the promises. Economic times were tough, people were losing jobs, and he was a great speaker. And he smiled and frowned and waved a lot. And people, even newspapers, were afraid to speak out for fear that his "brown shirts" would bully and beat them into submission. Which they did - regularly. And then, he was duly elected to office, while a full-throttled economic crisis bloomed at hand - the Great Depression. Slowly, but surely he seized the controls of government power, person by person, department by department, bureaucracy by bureaucracy. The children of German citizens were at first, encouraged to join a Youth Movement in his name where they were taught exactly what to think. Later, they were required to do so. No Jews of course,

How did he get people on his side? He did it by promising jobs to the jobless, money to the money-less, and rewards for the military-industrial complex. He did it by indoctrinating the children, advocating gun control, health care for all, better wages, better jobs, and promising to re-instill pride once again in the country, across Europe , and across the world. He did it with a compliant media - did you know that? And he did this all in the name of justice and .... . ... change. And the people surely got what they voted for.

If you think I am exaggerating, look it up. It's all there in the history books.

So read your history books. Many people of conscience objected in 1933 and were shouted down, called names, laughed at, and ridiculed. When Winston Churchill pointed out the obvious in the late 1930s while seated in the House of Lords in England (he was not yet Prime Minister), he was booed into his seat and called a crazy troublemaker. He was right, though. And the world came to regret that he was not listened to.

Do not forget that Germany was the most educated, the most cultured country in Europe .. It was full of music, art, museums, hospitals, laboratories, and universities. And yet, in less than six years (a shorter time span than just two terms of the U. S. presidency) it was rounding up its own citizens, killing others, abrogating its laws, turning children against parents, and neighbors against neighbors.. All with the best of intentions, of course.. The road to Hell is paved with them.

As a practical thinker, one not overly prone to emotional decisions, I have a choice: I can either believe what the objective pieces of evidence tell me (even if they make me cringe with disgust); I can believe what history is shouting to me from across the chasm of seven decades; or I can hope I am wrong by closing my eyes, having another latte, and ignoring what is transpiring around me..

I choose to believe the evidence. No doubt some people will scoff at me, others laugh, or think I am foolish, naive, or both. To some degree, perhaps I am. But I have never been afraid to look people in the eye and tell them exactly what I believe-and why I believe it.

I pray I am wrong. I do not think I am. Perhaps the only hope is our vote in the next elections.

No Surprises in New Hampshire

Results for New Hampshire Republican Primary, January 10th, 2012

Mitt Romney 39.4%
Ron Paul 22.8%
Jon Huntsman 16.8%
Newt Gingrich 9.4%
Rick Santorum 9.3%
Rick Perry 1.2%

Romney did slightly worse than expected but remains the front runner even under attacks from fellow republicans (read Newt Gingrich and Rick Perry). These attacks on Romney's alleged "Corporate Raider" tactics coming from career politicans are out of place and if continued will hurt the overall Republican effort against Obama in the fall.

Ron Paul did slightly better than expected. The exposure of Ron Paul's newsletters, which at best portray him as a bad manager, and at worst as a racist, did not seem to affect support for Paul much. Actually no surprise there as Paul supporters seem to forgive any Paul misstep on the way.

Santorum a point below poll averages. This disappointed me as I think Santorum has a lot to bring to the table with his economic plan. He needs to get that in front of people and add to his reputation or perception that he is only a family values candidate, although he does articulate an exceptional grasp of foreign policy and the threats facing this Country, as opposed to the ostrich Ron Paul who foreign policy is to the left of Donald Duck.

Huntsman much better than predicted on the pre-primary poll average probably because he ignored Iowa in order to campaign in New Hampshire also putting money into New Hampshire, unlike Rick Santorum for instance.

Gingrich was projected to garner about 8% of the votes and he came in at a little over 9%, so it's a wash for him and onto South Carolina and the conservative South where he has the best chance of making up the room between him and Romney.

Obama Doesn't Understand

Watch the animated movie below and imagine this taking place for real. Someone with a sense of humor and insight into President Obama's lack of knowledge and views of the role of Government put this masterpiece together.

From the Bullion Bulls Canada website

Sunday, January 8, 2012

Okay back to the 2012 Republican Presidential race.

Coming out of Iowa, where incidentally it wasn't just Republicans voting,... .....Democrats were allowed to vote for their "favorite" Republican candidate as well,.....we see that Gingrich has fallen substantially; Mitt can't seem to get over the 25% percentile;.......Santorum and his low cost, boot leather campaign has
garnered alot of support; Perry stayed abut the same as he has been in the past month;.....and Bachmann has fallen quite a bit. Who did we forget? Oh yeah, Ron Paul,...who domestic platforms is based solidly on Constitutional principles, his foreign policy idiocy has really established himself as a kook,...add in the newsletter with the really outlandish views on race, then you have a bigoted kook.

What happens in New Hampshire really only plays to people's perceptions and affects monetary support from backers/potential backers. But after all, perceptions are real and the winners (and losers) of New Hampshire will also serve to increase/decrease support for candidates in South Carolina. You can probably count on New Hampshire being the stopping point of Bachmann's campaign.

Average polls from New Hampshire:
Romney 42%
Paul 20%
Santorum 11%
Huntsman 9%
Gingrich 8%

Then onto South Carolina. With the addition of South Carolina, we start to see a more diverse smattering of Republican groups adding their opinions to the fray. But one small state in the bread basket,...one small state in the liberal NE and South Carolina do not a Nation's view make. But after South Carolina the race should be down to Romney, Santorum, Gingrich and unfortunately Paul.

Perry may stay in, but if he does less well in South Carolina than he hopes,...he'll be out. Romney and Paul (again unfortunately) will be in for several more states as they have national organizations from their previous runs as the big office. Gingrich? I think he'll be in for a few more states, but let's all hope Rick Santorum picks up the support necessary to make a run at least deep into the primary season as he influences the constitutional aspects, foreign policy and traditional American values quite heavily.

Average polls from South Carolina (however will be affected by the NH results): Hampshire:
Romney 34%
Santorum 22%
Gingrich 20%
Paul 11%
Perry 5%

And here's a clue to the liberal media who are bashing the Conservatives for having so many choices with support spread throughout all candidates,.....We'll match our slat of primary candidates against any the Democratic party has brought up since the 1900's.  The last Democrat primary saw Obama (and we all know what a loser he is), beating Hillary and that lawyer John Edwards (with the $500 haircuts) who is now facing prison.  Nobody could call this slat a good selection with a straight face.

I'd be happy with Newt, Santorum, Romney, Perry, Bachmann even Hunstman over Obama or any new candidate the Dem's would put up to run. Hell, I would even bet for Ron Paul over Obama.

As far as how much the polls mean,......the night before the Iowa caucus results, the polls had Paul tied or slightly leading Romney and we all now how turned out.

Department of Energy - A Waste of Energy and Money !

Does anybody out there have any memory of the reason given for the establishment of the DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY During the Carter Administration?

Anybody? Anything? No? Didn't think so!

This is the bottom line on the DOE:

We've spent several hundred billion dollars in support of an agency ...the reason for which not one person who reads this can remember.

The actual or stated reason was simple,.....very simple. And at the time everybody thought it very appropriate...The "Department of Energy" was instituted on 4 August 1977 TO LESSEN OUR DEPENDENCE ON FOREIGN OIL.

Hey, pretty efficient, huh?????

34 YEARS LATER.....AND THE BUDGET FOR THIS NECESSARY DEPARTMENT IS AT $24.2 BILLION A YEAR IT HAS 16,000 FEDERAL EMPLOYEES AND APPROXIMATELY 100,000 CONTRACT EMPLOYEES AND LOOK AT THE JOB IT HAS DONE!

THIS IS WHERE YOU SLAP YOUR FOREHEAD AND SAY 'WHAT WAS I THINKING?

And Obama doesn't want the Keystone XL pipeline which would not only bring us around 1 million gallons of oil a day, but employ tens of thousands of Americans at a time we need people to be employed.

Under Qualified

I am really concerned about North Korea 's appointment of the "dear leader", Kim Jung Ill 's youngest son to be the new leader of North Korea -- a nuclear power!

After all, Kim Jung Un had NO military experience whatsoever before daddy made him a four-star general in the military. This is a snot-nose twerp who has never accomplished anything in his life that that would even come close to military leadership: he hasn't even so much as led a cub scout troop, let alone coached a sports team or commanded a military platoon. So, setting that aside, next they make him the "beloved leader" of the country. Terrific!!!

Oops, I'm sorry. I just remembered that we did the same thing here, We took a community organizer who has never worn a uniform and made him Commander-in-Chief; a guy who has never led anything more than an ACORN demonstration and made him the leader of this country.

Never mind.

Debt Ceiling Explained Well

Our Congress thinks we're simpletons......Keeping us in the dark and feeding us garbage all the time. Talking circles around the debt and deficit problems. And then you have Obama who will be shortly raising the debt ceiling, putting this country further at risk and will also probably decrease the U.S. bond rating once again.

They just don't get it. When the average American family has money problems, we must cut spending - this forces us to prioritize our actual needs. I think I'm going to send my Congressman and Senators this video which is a tongue in cheek skit on an average American trying to act as financially stupid as our Federal Government.

Jon Corzine MF - MF Global That Is

From an article titled "2011′s Executive Compensation Highlights (and Lowlights)" by Daniel Gross on Yahoo! Finance

What the MF? Jon Corzine, former Goldman Sachs top dog, former Senator, former New Jersey Governor, was already a very rich man before he joined financial services firm MF Global as CEO. But he aimed to increase his fortune further by having MF Global put on insanely leveraged trades on European sovereign debt. The trades, of course, blew up in his face, plunged MF Global into bankruptcy, and have launched a slew of investigations. As Leder point outs, it's possible that Corzine's attention in the spring of 2011 was somewhat diverted. As a filing detailed, Corzine was spending time. . . . renegotiating his compensation package.

Months before the company blew up, MF Global agreed to pay Corzine a $1.5 million retention bonus on March 31, 2014 (or whenever he left the job), provided he didn't quit without a good reason or get fired for cause. And, Footnoted.com noted, a
broadly written escape clause would have allowed him to receive at least partial payment if he quite without 'good reason.' If only Corzine had paid as much attention to the billions of dollars MF was handling as he was to the paltry million or so he was haggling over.

More Lunancy

Green Energy. The bailout for GM (no, not General Motors, but Government Motors) WAS successful at a $250,000 per job saved to tax payers. Really?  Another report, or admission, is that the development of the Chevy Volt has cost us $2.5 billion.  Boy, we're heading in the right direction!  What the liberals pushing green energy don't understand is where the electricity comes from to plug these worthless four wheled contraptions into. Most all electricity comes from fossil fuel powered plants that create electricity. So here's the Administration's plan: lets over regulate the oil and coal industry so production is practically impossible,.... .....raising electric rates - remember when Obama said they will necessarily double?,........then create or mandate a bunch of electric cars that only go 80 miles before needing an 8 hour re-charge. Let's make the American people use green energy,...after all we know what's best for them,....whether it tanks the U.S. economy or not.

Politicians Out of Touch with the American People. This was the claim against Mitt Romney when at a Republican Presidential debate, he bet Rick Perry $10,000 that he was wrong on facts relating to Romney's book. The mainstream (read liberal) media jumped all over Mitt claiming he was "way out of touch with common Americans who could never even dream about betting $10,000." Now we have Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) former shamed speaker of the House spending $10,000 a night for hotel accomodations in Hawaii and not one stinking peep from the media about how out of touch fanciful Nancy is with the People by spending $10,000 a night for a hotel room.

More Borrowing Power Requested. Obama just requested $1.2 Trillion in additional borrowing power. He wants to raise the debt ceiling again. This time before Congress reconvenes in session so they can't do anything about it. After running up a HUGE debt in his short three years, Obama has the gall to request even more borrowing. What? the Unions need more money to bring the votes in? Now it is even harder to debate the people who think that Obama is intentionally ruining this country as this new debt ceiling may be taking us over the edge.
