Message From Eric Cantor and You Cut

The new House Republican majority was elected with orders to stop Washington from spending money it doesn't have, and we listened. The jobs and savings of too many Americans are at stake for Washington to continue ducking the toughest choices.

This spring, the House passed a budget that would cut spending by trillions of dollars and encourage private-sector job creation - without raising taxes. Among its key components are tax reforms that close unfair tax loopholes, while lowering the tax rates for everyone.

Unfortunately, the Democrats who still control the Senate and the White House rejected both our budget and a House-passed "Cut, Cap, and Balance" plan that would save trillions.

The Budget Control Act, which has now been signed into law, represents a step toward fiscal sanity in Washington, but only a step. It includes roughly a trillion dollars in up front deficit reduction including real caps to restrain future spending, and no new tax increases.

Bottom line, Washington can't keep spending money it does not have. By participating in the YouCut program over the past year and a half, you were among the first Americans to take action in this cause. Together, we have made a lot of progress, but much more remains to be done.

In the weeks and months ahead, be sure to stay tuned, as there will be several unique opportunities for you to participate in the legislative process. Working together, we will change Washington's culture of spending into a culture of savings.

Rep. Eric Cantor
Majority Leader

Vote on You Cut

Eliminate Grants to Worsted Wool Manufacturers
Potential savings: at least $20 million over 10 years
Manufacturers who weave worsted wool products in the United States that were doing business during the years 1999-2001 obtained eligibility to receive a portion of $5 million in annual grant funding under the Miscellaneous Trade and Technical Corrections Act of 2004. The program was initially intended to be a temporary measure to assist manufacturers in adjusting to changes in U.S. trade laws which subjected them to increased foreign competition, with funds terminating in 2007. However, like many “temporary” government programs, it has been repeatedly extended. It currently is slated to expire in 2014. The initial intent of helping companies “adjust” to changes in trade law that are now more than a decade old has been fulfilled, and even the Obama administration has recommended terminating this program. Eligible manufacturers have already received $25 million in subsidies over the past 5 years to invest in whatever productivity improvements were necessary to counter increased foreign competition.

Eliminate the Science To Achieve Results Program
Potential Savings: up to $650 million over 10 years
The Environmental Protection Agency’s Science to Achieve Results program [STAR] funds scientific and engineering research grants to researchers and academic nonprofit institutions. The $60 million annual program also provides graduate fellowships in environmental sciences in the form of $37,000 yearly for living expenses, research and tuition assistance to masters and doctoral students. Subject matters of the research focus on policy priorities of the EPA, including technologies whose commercial application would be of limited appeal without imposing federal regulations like “cap and trade” systems restricting carbon emissions from stationary sources such as electrical power plants. Development of potentially uneconomic technologies helps the agency implement a heavy-handed regulatory agenda. Moreover, prior assessments of the program by the Office of Management and Budget [OMB] have concluded that some of the funded research is duplicative of research carried out by other federal agencies.

End Federal Funding for Municipal Bike-sharing Programs
The Federal government distributed more than $53 billion in funding for highways and transit projects in FY 2011 from the federal highway and transit trust funds. Federal excise taxes on gasoline sales are supposed to support these programs, however spending has significantly exceeded gas tax revenues in recent years. One reason for the excess has been federal spending on projects that don’t involve highways or transit systems at all, including federally funded bike sharing programs. Bike sharing programs were part of the more than $1 billion the federal government spent on programs to promote biking and walking in 2010. Federal bike and walking programs received hundreds of millions of stimulus dollars in addition to an annually recurring funding base that now exceeds $600 million. Bike sharing programs involve installation of bike storage facilities throughout a metropolitan area, together with the purchase of publicly-owned bicycles that riders can use for free or a nominal fee as a method of transportation. Federally-funded bike sharing programs are currently operating in cities such as Washington DC, New York City, and Minneapolis.

Chrysler - A Dirty Story, or, More Obama Dirty Laundry

Someone sent me this story, evidently from the Washington Examiner. The sooner this comes to light, the better,...... but figure the odds on the mainstream media running with this. This could be a scandal of epic proportions and one that makes Nixon's Watergate or Clinton 's Monica Lewinsky affair pale by comparison. Remember when all those car dealerships were closed, supposedly because they were poor performers? Was there an actual agenda to which dealerships of the Chrysler Corporation were to be closed?

Roll the clock back to the weeks just before Chrysler declared bankruptcy. Chrysler, like GM, was in dire financial straits and federal government "graciously" offered to "buy the company" and keep them out of bankruptcy and "save jobs." Chrysler was, in the words of Obama and his administration, "Too big to fail," same story with GM.

The feds organized their "Automotive Task Force" to fix Chrysler and GM. Obama, in an act that is 100% unconstitutional, appointed a guy named Steve Rattner to be the White House's official Car Czar - literally, that's what his title is.

Rattner is the liaison between Obama, Chrysler, and GM.

Initially, the national media reported that Chrysler 'had made this list of dealerships'. Not true! The Washington Examiner and a host of other news agencies discovered that the list of dealerships was put together by the "Automotive Task Force" headed by no one other than Mr. Steve Rattner.

Remember earlier we said that there was neither rhyme nor reason why certain dealerships were closed?

Actually there's a very interesting pattern as to who was closed down. Again, on May 27, 2009, The Washington Examiner exposed the connection.

Amazingly, of the 789 dealerships closed by the federal government, 788 had donated money, exclusively to Republican political causes, while contributing nothing to Democratic political causes. The only "Democratic" dealership on the list was found to have donated $7,700 to Hillary's campaign, and a bit over $2,000 to John Edwards. This same dealership, reportedly, also gave $20000 to Obama's campaign.

Steve Rattner is the guy who put the list together. Well, he happens to be married to a Maureen White. Maureen happens to be the former national finance chairman of the Democratic National Committee. As such, she has access to campaign donation records from everyone in the nation- Republican or Democrat. But of course, this is just a wacky "coincidence," we're certain.

Then comes another really wacky "coincidence."

On that list of dealerships being closed down, a weird thing happened in Arkansas , North Louisiana, and Southern Missouri . It seems that Bill Clinton's former White House Chief of Staff, Mack McClarty, owns a chain of dealership in that region, partnered with a fellow by the name of Robert Johnson.

Johnson happens to be founder of Black Entertainment Television and was a huge Obama supporter and financier.

These guys own a half dozen Chrysler stores under the company title of RLJ-McClarty-Landers. Interestingly, none of their dealerships were ordered closed - not one! While all of their competing Chrysler/Dodge and Jeep dealership were!

Eight dealerships located near the dealerships owned by McClarty and Johnson were ordered shut down. Thus by pure luck, these two major Obama supporters now have virtual monopoly on Chrysler sales in their zone.

Go look in The Washington Examiner, the story's there, and it's in a dozen or so other web-based news organizations; this isn't being made up.

Now if you thought Chrysler was owned by Fiat, you are mistaken. Under the federal court ruling, 65% of Chrysler is now owned by the federal government and the United Auto Workers union! Fiat owns 20%. The other 15% is still privately owned and presumably will be traded on the stock market.

Obama smiles and says he doesn't want to run the auto industry.

As horrifying as this is to comprehend, and being as how this used to be the United States of America , it would appear that the president has the power to destroy private businesses and eliminate upwards of 100,000 jobs just because they don't agree with his political agenda

There are voices in Washington demanding an explanation, but the "Automotive Task Force" has released no information to the public or to any of the senators demanding answers for what has been done.

Benjamin Franklin had it right when he said, "All that's necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing."

Car Czar No More

An amazing thing happened as this story was going to press. Obama's Car Czar, Steve Rattner, resigned on July 13 and was promptly replaced by former steel workers union boss Ron Bloom.
According to CBS News, Rattner left "to return to private life and spend time with his family."

Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner said, "I hope that he takes another opportunity to bring his unique skills to government service in the future." By the way, Rattner is under investigation for a multi-million dollar pay-to-play investment bank scandal in New York .......Uh-oh!

But, we're certain that had nothing to do with his resignation. And, according to several news sources out there, there are rumors he's being investigated for what could be pay-to-play scandal involving the closing of Chrysler and GM dealerships. Really?

Again, that couldn't have anything to with his resignation-that's ridiculous!
Like CBS said, this guy just wants to "spend more quality time with his family."

Obama has 32 personally appointed "czars" who answer to no one but him, all of whom are acting without any Constitutional authority. But hey, we're sure they all have "unique skills,"... as Tim Geithner likes to say!

Goshen College Throws Out the National Anthem

From an article on Yahoo! news,...I wonder if this college received Federal funds? More than likely since who doesn't?

Visiting fans who attend a basketball game, or any sporting event, at Goshen College this season may be surprised by the patriotic song they hear over the loudspeakers minutes before tipoff.

The Northern Indiana school has decided to play "America the Beautiful" prior to sporting events instead of the "Star-Spangled Banner" because the lyrics better fit the pacifist ideals of a Mennonite campus whose motto is "Healing the World, Peace by Peace."

Cowboys comment:I think Goshen College should change their sports mascot name to the Goshen College Shit Heads.

Adopting "America the Beautiful" is Goshen president James E. Brenneman's attempt to end a debate over the national anthem that has engulfed his school for almost two years.

Goshen College had never played the national anthem before a sporting event until March 2010 when the school began playing an instrumental version at the urging of Brenneman. In a lengthy statement explaining the change in policy, Brenneman said, "I am committed to retaining the best of what it means to be a Mennonite college, while opening the doors wider to all who share our core values."

Cowboy's comment: Just what are Goshen's core values? Better to live with conflict? Dying for freedom is unacceptable?

The practice of playing the national anthem before games was immediately controversial among the 1,000-person student body, 58 percent of which belong to the Mennonite faith built on pacifism and global citizenship. Complaints from students and alumni eventually caused school officials to put an end to the short-lived ritual of playing the anthem at sporting events in June.

What bothered many at Goshen College about the "Star-Spangled Banner" was imagery from the War of 1812 that Francis Scott Key included. Goshen spokesman Richard R. Aguirre told the Chicago Tribune that lyrics such as "the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air" were "inconsistent to the entire message we were trying to send."

Cowboy's comment: I wonder if the fact that hundreds of thousands of service members gave life and limb to provide an environment where these people can worship freely?

Seeking a compromise that would satisfy both factions at his school, Brenneman considered numerous patriotic songs before announcing last Friday that "America the Beautiful" would be the replacement for the national anthem at Goshen. In a statement released that day, Brenneman
explained his choice by pointing out that it's easily recognizable, it honors the country and it fits with Goshen's core values.

"Though some may or may not agree with the alternative recommended here, I call now on each one of us to move beyond this decision and turn our attention to other important matters before us,"

Brenneman said. "May God help Goshen College become one of the most welcoming places on earth for all who come to our campus."

Brenneman's attempt at compromise may have satisfied some students and alumni, but the decision has sparked protest and derision from many outsiders.

"Goshen College should be banned from NCAA competition until they start playing the National Anthem again," one man tweeted. Wrote another, "Goshen looks horrible. Its a tragedy that my brother is still forced to go to such a prison of a school."

Cowboy's comment: Sorry I had to post this and make some comments. But I have lost too many friends who dedicated their lives to the ideals of this country. It is unfathomable to me that people at a institute of higher learning cannot rationalize playing the National Anthem while being non-violent. I'm all for being non-violent, in fact I prefer to have a life conflict free,.....but I certainly recognize the fact that there is evil in this world and that violence against evil is righteous and most times necessary.

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." ~ Edmund Burke

Mexican President Calderon,.....He has a Problem with the Truth

Just when you think you're becoming immune to the daily toll of Cartel related murders in Mexico, we learned about Cartels killers invading a Casino in Monterrey, dousing it with gasoline and setting a fire that killed at least 52 people, reported mostly older women.

A day later, Mexican National Ass Clown Felipe Calderon tells the U.S., in a speech directed at U.S. Citizens that we are partly responsible. Then he calls on us to quit selling high powered weapons and assault rifles to criminals that operate in Mexico. Since the casino murderers used gasoline, should we quit letting Mexicans buy gasoline as well? Maybe a bar on sales of Zippos to Mexico will do the trick?

And this clown addresses U.S. Citizens? Maybe he would have a point addressing the U.S. Government, specifically Eric Holder's Justice Department and the ATF who, under notorious Operation Fast and Furious, allowed thousands of guns to go to the Cartels, and nobody responsible in the Adminstration down to the ATF Director has yet to be held responsible.

And of course there is the four Mexican Nationals in Las Vegas, Nevada who bought and smuggled AK-47's, M-16's, and even some .50 caliber semi-automatic rifles directly to the Zetas....perhaps the most brutal cartel there is.......but that's like saying Joe Biden is perhaps the least Liberal idiot in Obama Administration.

Here's a message for Felipe Calderon: The problem ain't us. It's you,... your lack of a national ethic that allows the police departments, the government, and military to be infiltrated by Cartel members or for the Cartels to buy cooperation. Take the damn gloves off you idiot. Institute capital punishment. Develop real prisons rather than prisoner run institutions you have now. Ask the U.S. to target the Cartel leadership. And quit blaming us you incredibly stupid buffoonery.

Social Security Disability Near Insolvent

From an Associated Press article by Stephen Ohlemacher, 21 August 2011.

Laid-off workers and aging baby boomers are flooding Social Security's disability program with benefit claims, pushing the financially strapped system toward the brink of insolvency. Applications are up nearly 50 percent over a decade ago as people with disabilities lose their jobs and can't find new ones in an economy that has shed nearly 7 million jobs.

The stampede for benefits is adding to a growing backlog of applicants — many wait two years or more before their cases are resolved — and worsening the financial problems of a program that's been running in the red for years.

New congressional estimates say the trust fund that supports Social Security disability will run out of money by 2017, leaving the program unable to pay full benefits, unless Congress acts. About two decades later, Social Security's much larger retirement fund is projected to run dry as well.

Much of the focus in Washington has been on fixing Social Security's retirement system. Proposals range from raising the retirement age to means-testing benefits for wealthy retirees. But the disability system is in much worse shape and its problems defy easy solutions.

The trustees who oversee Social Security are urging Congress to shore up the disability system by reallocating money from the retirement program, just as lawmakers did in 1994. That would provide only short-term relief at the expense of weakening the retirement program.

Claims for disability benefits typically increase in a bad economy because many disabled people get laid off and can't find a new job. This year, about 3.3 million people are expected to apply for federal disability benefits. That's 700,000 more than in 2008 and 1 million more than a decade ago.

"It's primarily economic desperation," Social Security Commissioner Michael Astrue said in an interview. "People on the margins who get bad news in terms of a layoff and have no other place to go and they take a shot at disability,"

The disability program is also being hit by an aging population — disability rates rise as people get older — as well as a system that encourages people to apply for more generous disability benefits rather than waiting until they qualify for retirement.

Retirees can get full Social Security benefits at age 66, a threshold gradually rising to 67. Early retirees can get reduced benefits at 62. However, if you qualify for disability, you can get full benefits, based on your work history, even before 62.

Also, people who qualify for Social Security disability automatically get Medicare after two years, even if they are younger than 65, the age when other retirees qualify for the government-run health insurance program.

Congress tried to rein in the disability program in the late 1970s by making it tougher to qualify. The number of people receiving benefits declined for a few years, even during a recession in the early 1980s. Congress, however, reversed course and loosened the criteria, and the rolls were growing again by 1984.

Cowboy's comment: We are going to "Entitle" ourselves into bankruptcy. Obama and the Democrats want to give another Social Security payroll tax deduction to seem like they support the middle class, making the Republicans look like tax hikers, when in fact the problem is that the current government spends too much and brings in too little by emplaces too much big government regulation to include high taxes on business. We'll either learn and correct this or wither into a economically despondent country like Greece.

History Lesson on Your Social Security Card

History Lesson on Social Security. It's easy to check out, if you don't believe it. Be sure to read this and be the voice for truth. Social Security Cards up until the 1980s expressly stated the number and card were not to be used for identification purposes. Since nearly everyone in the United States now has a number, it became convenient to use it anyway and the message, NOT FOR IDENTIFICATION, was removed.

Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social Security (FICA) Program. He promised:

1.) That participation in the Program would be Completely voluntary,.....

Truth today is that Social Security is no longer voluntary

2.) That the participants would only have to pay 1% of the first $1,400 of their annual Incomes into the Program,

Truth today: Now you pay 7.65% on the first $90,000

3.) That the money the participants elected to put into the Program would be deductible from their income for tax purposes each year,

Truth today: No longer tax deductible

4.) That the money the participants put into the independent 'Trust Fund' rather than into the general operating fund, and therefore, would only be used to fund the Social Security Retirement Program, and no other Government program,

Truth today: Under President Johnson the money was moved to the General Fund and Spent

5.) That the annuity payments to the retirees would never be taxed as income.

Truth today: Under Clinton & Gore, Up to 85% of your Social Security can be Taxed

Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are now receiving a Social Security check every month, and then finding that we are getting taxed on 85% of the money we paid to the Federal government to put away, you may be interested in the following:

Q: Which Political Party took Social Security from the independent 'Trust Fund' and put it into the general fund so that Congress could spend it?
A: It was Lyndon Johnson and the democratically controlled House and Senate.

Q: Which Political Party eliminated the income tax deduction for Social Security (FICA) withholding?
A: The Democratic Party.

Q: Which Political Party started taxing Social Security annuities?
A: The Democratic Party, with Al Gore casting the 'tie-breaking' deciding vote as President of the Senate, while he was Vice President of the U.S.

Q: Which Political Party decided to start giving annuity payments to immigrants?
A: Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Party. Immigrants moved into this country, and at age 65, began to receive Social Security payments! The Democratic Party gave these payments to them, even though they never paid a dime into it!

Then, after violating the original contract (FICA), the Democrats turn around and tell you that the Republicans want to take your Social Security away!

And the worst part about it is uninformed citizens believe it!

Rick Perry - Near Top of the Republican Presidential Candidates

The latest turn of the 2012 Republican Presidential campaign was when Texas Governor Rick Perry formally entered the field with an announcement in South Carolina, while the previously announced candidates (excepting Mitt Romney) traversed Iowa looking to pickup momentum with the Iowa Straw Poll. After the straw poll it became apparent Rick Perry's entrance helped narrow the field to three: Michele Bachmann, Mitt Romney and Ricky Perry. I know, I know some will argue that the cranky old isolationist whiner Ron Paul is still in the mix. My favorite, Herman Cain, is about fifth in most polls. And of course former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty bowed out, suprisingly so, after a fairly good showing in Iowa,....if that straw poll means anything.

With Rick Perry, the Country gets a candidate who speaks his mind, often from the cuff providing the press with many unique stories, some they spin, and some they don't need to because of what Perry says. However outspoken Rick Perry is, there is no mistaking the fact that Texas is heading into the economic downturn wind with sails flying high, while most other states, and certainly this Country, is flying out of control heading towards a cliff.

All in all I could easily support Rick Perry is he turns out to be the Republican candidate, not because any change from Obama would be better,.....that is absolutely true, but Perry has a mind set and beliefe in small Federal government and States rights.

From a Yahoo! article on Governor Perry, web link posted below:

Perry laid out these proposed innovations to the founding document in his book,Fed Up! Our Fight to Save America from Washington. He has occasionally mentioned them on the campaign trail. Several of his ideas fall within the realm of mainstream conservative thinking today, but, as you will see, there are also a few surprises.

1. Abolish lifetime tenure for federal judges by amending Article III, Section I of the Constitution.

2. Congress should have the power to override Supreme Court decisions with a two-thirds vote.

3. Scrap the federal income tax by repealing the Sixteenth Amendment.

4. End the direct election of senators by repealing the Seventeenth Amendment.

5. Require the federal government to balance its budget every year.

6. The federal Constitution should define marriage as between one man and one woman in all 50 states.

7. Abortion should be made illegal throughout the country.

The Results of Disarming the People

Watch these first hand accounts of how the British have been disarmed and the tyrants who have been eroding these rights for years. The outrageous gun laws in England left many unprotected during the recent riots in England. How would you feel if say, ten thousand people rioted near you demanding some sort of government program? It could very well happen since the U.S. has 20% of the population on food stamps and government welfare and the gravy train has got to end for the sheer simple fact that we are running out of money.

Don't think it can happen here? Anything can happen here in the U.S. All it takes is for good men to do nothing.

Discussion Among 5 Surgeons

Five surgeons from big cities are discussing who makes the best
patients to operate on.

The first surgeon, from New York , says, "I like to see accountants on my operating table because when you open them up, everything inside is numbered.."

The second, from Chicago, responds, "Yeah, but you should try electricians! Everything inside them is color coded."

The third surgeon, from Dallas, says, "No, I really think librarians are the best, everything inside them is in alphabetical order"

The fourth surgeon, from Los Angeles chimes in: "You know, I like construction workers... Those guys always understand when you have a few parts left over."

But the fifth surgeon, from Washington DC, shut them all up when he observed: "You're all wrong. Politicians are the easiest to operate on. There's no guts, no heart, no balls, no brains, and no spine. Plus, the head and the ass are interchangeable."

Entitlements,.... My Ass

Someone's perspective sent to me for comment. My comment's in bold.

Entitlements my ass, I paid cash for my Social Security Insurance! Just because they borrowed my money, doesn't make my benefits some kind of charity or handout! Congressional benefits like free health care, outrageous retirement packages, 67 paid holidays, three weeks paid vacation, unlimited paid sick days: now that's welfare; and they have the nerve to call my retirement entitlements!
Social Security should not be thought of as an entitlement, but remember there are many types of social security and some people will receive many hundred times more benefits then they ever paid into. We need Social Security reform across the board and that is just going to have to include some sort of increase in the eligibility age.

Someone please tell me what the Hell is wrong with all the people that run this country!

We're broke and can't help our Seniors, Veterans, Orphans, Homeless etc.?

In recent months we have provided aid to Haiti , Chile, Pakistan...home to bin Laden...literally BILLIONS of DOLLARS!

Our retired seniors living on a fixed incomes receive no aid nor do they get any breaks while our government gives Hundreds of Billions to Foreign Countries!

You are right about this country going bankrupt and we still send all that foreign aid. Remember what Herman Cain said, words to the effect that we should figure out who are friends are,...figure out who are enemies are, and quit giving money to our enemies,....which in my mind includes the U.N.

They call Social Security and Medicare entitlements even though most of us have been paying for them all our working lives. And now, when its time for us to collect, the Government is running out of money. Why did the Government borrow from our Social Security in the first place? That is a question best given to the Democrats who have dipped into what was supposed to be a protected pot of money and use it for all sorts of programs, aimed at creating and rewarding Democrat voters.

We have many adoptable children who are shoved aside to make room for the adoption of foreign orphans.

AMERICA: a country where we have homeless without shelter, children going to bed hungry, elderly going without needed medication, mentally ill going without treatment, etc.

Imagine if our Government gave us the same support they give the people who hate us.
Sad, isn't it? Yes it is sad when the U.S. gives Palestinians hundreds of millions of dollars and these are the same low lifes who cheered in the streets of Gaza when the World Trade Towers fell.

Union Mobs attacks Verizon

Paraphrased from Mark Mix's column on the Right to Work Movement. I don't ever see any Politicians standing up much anymore for these Unions,...sure the Democrats funnel money to the Union coffers - no more so than Obama with the Stimulus plan,....but no politicians is willing to stand up in front of a camera and say what the Unions are demanding,.....that workers must belong to a Union, pay Union dues, and stand silent while the Union funnels money to Democrat campaigns.

Oh, by the way, the Obama Stimulus plan isn't really a failed plan like the facts suggest,...I say that it was intended all along to fund the Unions and "stimulate" the political campaigns of Democrat candidates. Anyway, back to the Unions lead by Communist scumbags......

Communications Workers of America (CWA) and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) union bosses have ordered tens of thousands of Verizon employees to abandon their jobs and report to a union picket The early reports of rampant intimidation and militancy are disturbing but sadly unsurprising. The U.S. has come to know Unions for their deliberate lies; violence and intimidation; and, outrageous demands for gold plated benefits and handouts.

Verizon already reports over 70 acts of sabotage and damage to phone and Internet lines -- exposing customers to the possibility that they will be unable to call for help or reach family during an emergency. Verizon managers are filling in for union workers on strike and being harassed as they cross the picket line each day.

One union militant ordered his young daughter to stand in front a Verizon truck while he verbally berated the independent technicians.

And on Facebook, union strikers compiled a so-called "scab" list -- that disgusting name union thugs use to demean, harass, and even threaten workers who defy union-boss orders and continue working to provide for their families.

Watch the video below,...listen to the Union strikers yelling "Union Power!",....what I hear is "Mob Power!":

Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R-MN) Wins Iowa Straw Poll

Michele Bachmann won the Iowa straw poll on Saturday, as Texas Governor Rick Perry
formerly announced his bid for the Presidency in South Carolina and former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty, a nemesis of Bachmann, bowed out after a fairly strong third place showing....must have ran out of money.

Bachmann, a Congresswomen from Minnesota, narrowly beat Texas Congressman Ron Paul to win the nonbinding mock election, giving her both a fund raising advantage and an emotional victory in Bachmann's birthplace.

Bachmann won with 29 percent of the vote. Paul, was a close second with 28 percent, while Pawlenty had 14 percent.

Former U.S. Senator Rick Santorum, from Pennsylvania, was fourth, businessman Herman Cain came in fifth, and Rick Perry was sixth. Perry finished with 3.6 percent of the vote even though he was not on the ballot. That was more than Mitt Romney, the former Massachusetts governor, who was on the ballot but did not participate in the poll. He finished seventh.

With a national straw poll conducted just after the results of Iowa were announced, the results were somewhat different:

Ron Paul 29%

Mitt Romney 20%

Michele Bachmann 18%

Herman Cain 14%

Newt Gingrich 8%

Jon Huntsman 6%

Rick Santorum 3%

Tim Pawlenty 3%

These were surprising to me after the National televised debate where Ron Paul seemingly shot himself in the foot with his un-educated views on the World, particularly the Islamic terrorist threat, and his whiny rant on Iran not being a threat. I know, I know, you watched it too and you said "What?!?!?".

Bumper Sticker of the Week - Prayer For President Obama

My wife and I were in slow-moving traffic the other day and we were stopped behind a car that had an unusual Obama bumper sticker on it.

It read: "Pray for Obama. Psalm 109:8".

When we got home my wife got out the Bible and opened it up to the scripture. She started laughing & laughing. Then she read it to me. I couldn't believe what it said. I had a good laugh, too.

Psalm 109:8 ~ "Let his days be few and brief; and let others step forward to replace him."

At last -- I can honestly voice a Biblical prayer for our president! Look it up -- it is word for word! Let us all bow our heads and pray. Brothers and Sisters, can I get an AMEN?

Wisconsin and Ohio versus the Unions - Right to Work at Stake

The Union's are on the attack again fighting against Wisconsin's union bargaining reforms and now against Ohio's new right to work law for the government sector.

How can any responsible person be against the concept of "right to work". Right to work simple means, having the right to work in a job your are qualified for without having a union "tax" (at best) or "extort" (at worse) part of your pay check to pay for, among other things, political ads overwhelmingly for liberal, socialist values?

Wisconsin and Ohio both righted a moral wrong by eliminating the union's power over government employees,...but as the National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation correct asserts, the union bosses won't relinquish their special legal privileges without a fight.

Right now union lawyers are scheming and working to overturn Wisconsin's monopoly bargaining reforms in the courts, union bosses and their allies in Ohio have launched a massive campaign in support of a ballot measure that would repeal Ohio's new government-sector Right to Work law.

This past week, with free legal aid from the National Right to Work Foundation, 15 Ohio school teachers filed a class-action suit demonstrating once again why the new Right to Work protections are so clearly needed. All 15 teachers who launched the lawsuit have exercised their right to refrain from membership in the Ohio Education Association (OAE) union and its affiliates, but nonetheless are forced to accept the "representation" of and pay tribute to union bosses as a condition of employment.

In the Foundation-won precedent Abood v. Detroit Board of Education, the U.S. Supreme Court held that the First Amendment guarantees that nonmember teachers cannot be forced to pay dues or fees for union-boss politics and other non-bargaining activities.

OEA union officials have unlawfully overcharged the teachers for costs supporting the union's political activism and electioneering, which of course is again over-whelmingly if not 100% in support of Democrats, Liberals, Big Government spending, anti-constitutionalists and Socialists,....ahh, but I'm being redundant.

One of big wrongs this Country has to fix is when workers can be compelled to support an unwanted union.

The above article was para-phrased in part from a report by The National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation. This is a nonprofit, charitable organization providing free legal aid to employees whose human or civil rights have been violated by compulsory unionism abuses. The Foundation, which can be contacted toll-free at 1-800-336-3600, is assisting thousands of employees in nearly 200 cases nationwide. The Foundation's mailing address is 8001 Braddock Road, Springfield, Virginia 22160. Its web address is

Left Turn or Right Turn for this Nation?

Cowboys received the following comment, obviously from an Obama apologists,...the comment: "This nation is further right than I've ever seen it. We are bleeding conservationism from every pore of our beings. You crazies have hijacked our country, and you have no body to blame but yourselves."

Reply from Cowboys: Wow! Have you been off the planet for the past three years? Under the Obama regime, up until Novemeber 2010 (actually Jan 2011), this Country was ran, and ran into the ground, by Democrats. These Demos were certainly not from my father's party, they are better identified as "socialists", "Marxists" and "America Apologists" if not outright "America haters". As you remember (you change history) the House changed from Democrat control to Republican control through an election of historic margins. Yes, the People are tired of Democrat ineptitude and corruption. Still the Butt Clowns of Obama-Reid-Kerry-Pelosi-Frank-Dodd-Sharpton party control 2/3rds of the government.

The failed economy is squarely on the Democrat scorecard. From the housing bust,.. ....blame Chris Dodd and Barney "Mumbles" Frank, both Democrats who personally profited,..... to Nancy "sign the bill into law so we can see what's in it" Pelosi, the President himself who has not presented a plan to the American people let along Congress for action. Again, NOT presented a plan, neither has the Senate Dems. How can anyone rationalize or justify this incredible lack of leadership?

No, my idiot liberal friend, it is the Democrats who are driving this country to a more conservative mindset, as the People see what the liberals offer with empty sound bites and failed policies,....and possible National bankruptcy. Look at what just happened in Wisconsin. The People spoke, and Demo politicians should be looking for other work.

During the Obama speech on Monday (8 August), the Market reacted to his hollow words and empty general promises by tanking a further 200+ points. You are certainly allowed your opinion,.....some of my friends have died to ensure that,..but you cannot have your own facts. Latest fact: First time this Country has been downgraded on it's credit worthiness and the blame lays on Obama.

Bewildered Cowboy

It's not often you can bewilder a Texas Cowboy, unless of course you place him right in the middle of New York City, but I guess it does happen. This story was related to me by an old Cowboy partner of mine.

While out riding one morning checking fence next to the Rio Grande River, I saw a Muslim extremist fall into the Rio Grande River; he was struggling to stay afloat because of all the guns and bombs he was carrying. Along with him was a Mexican who was also struggling to stay afloat because of the large backpack of drugs that was strapped to his back. And if that wasn't enough, there was a liberal with them,...I could tell by his Obama hat.

I knew right there, that they were too far away for my lariat to reach them and if they didn't get help, they'd surely drown. Being a responsible Texan and abiding by the law to help those in distress, I informed the County Sheriff's Office as well as the local Border Patrol Station. That all occurred around 6:30 in the morning and by 4:00 PM, all three had drowned as neither authority has responded. I'm starting to think I wasted two stamps.....

Obama Loves George Soros

An article on Townhall by Michelle Malkin, entitled "Obama's Exclusive George Soros Waivers". Read the entire article here: Townhall/MMalkin/Soros-Obama

"Millionaires and billionaires," President Obama says derisively, must make more "sacrifices" and live by the same rules the rest of America lives by. But there are seven little words that will never appear on the White House teleprompter: "And that means you, too, George Soros."

For all his (and his wife's) bashing of greedy Wall Street hedge-fund managers, Obama has shown nothing but love to the world's most famous hedge-fund mogul. The feeling is mutual and deep(as in deep-pocketed).

Soros and his family shelled out $250,000 for Obama's inauguration, $60,000 in direct campaign contributions and untold millions more to liberal activist groups pushing the White House agenda. While the class warrior-in-chief assails conniving financiers who exploit loopholes and corporate titans who imperil the planet, he lets the Soros exemptions to his attack-the-rich rules slide like butter on a hot plate.

This week, for example, Soros announced he was "quitting" the hedge-fund industry. The headlines emphasized his decision to return about $750 million to outside investors (a drop in his $30 billion bucket of personal wealth). He's reconstituting the business that landed him on Forbes magazine's "wealthiest people" list as a "family" interest. But the move has "self-serving politics" written all over it.

Over the past year, Soros provided coveted support for Obama and the Democrats' Byzantine financial "reforms" under the sweeping Dodd-Frank law. He preached to financial publications around the world about the need for increased regulatory controls over his industry. And in November 2008, while paying obligatory lip service to concerns about going too far, he submitted a statement to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform that recommended: "The entire regulatory framework needs to be reconsidered, and hedge funds need to be regulated within that framework."

Frameworks for thee, but not for he, however.

Somehow, in touting its one-year anniversary last week, there was nary a peep about the myriad loopholes and defacto waivers being granted to Obama's powerful benefactors whose names start with "S" and end in "-oros."

US Credit Rating Downgraded

Yeah, you can call it another Black Friday as the U.S. credit rating was downgraded from AAA to AA Plus. Credit rating agency Standard & Poor's on Friday downgraded the United States' credit rating for the first time in history, saying debt package falls short.

S&P said that it is cutting the country's top AAA rating by one notch to AA-plus. The credit agency said that it is making the move because the deficit reduction plan passed by Congress on Tuesday did not go far enough to stabilize the country's debt situation.

A source familiar with the discussions said that the Obama administration feels the S&P's analysis contained "deep and fundamental flaws." Well Mr President, the depths of your complete ignorance on economic issues is deep and your decision making is totally flawed. You should fire Turbo Tim Geithner as he recently said there was no chance the U.S. credit rating would be downgraded. Speaking of firings,....the American people will give you your pink slip in November 2012.

Not only is S&P downgrading this Country's Credit Rating but they are also issuing a negative outlook, meaning that there was a chance it will lower the rating further within the next two years. My God, we have got to get the Socialists and Communists out of office!

S&P will downgrade the U.S. credit rating to AA if they see less reductions in spending than Congress and the administration have agreed to make, higher interest rates or new fiscal pressures during this period. And you can bet that we'll see higher interest rates, so I guess an even lower credit rating is certainly to come.

This down grade comes after S&P warned the government in April that a downgrade was probably unless the Government developed a long-term deficit reduction plan and avoided a default on the country's massive debt, over $4 Trillion, which is unprecedented in history.

S&P even stated that it was "pessimistic about the capability of Congress and the Obama Administration to bring a fiscal solution that would stabilize the government's debt anytime soon."

The Rich and Their Fair Share

With the debate and political deals on how this government is going to handle shrinking revenues and expanded government spending, especially concerning the Federal debt which is not just an economic issue but a national security issue, I am sick and tired of all these butt clowns crying for the “rich” to pay “their fair share”.

Okay you stupid buffoons, what exactly is a “fair share” for the “rich”? And just how are you defining the “rich”? And I want straight numbers, not the BS which President Obama uses to start class warfare, and you have all heard him spew sound bites such as “millionaires and billionaires should pay their fair share”, “the hedge fund manager should not pay less taxes than his secretary”, and so on.

First of all, how dare anyone tell someone else that they need to pay more that others because they had the skills and initiative to earn more? I think we learned in school and in life that fair is the same or proportional,....not punitive.

Second of all, the tax facts from the last reporting year are this:

The top .1 %, not the top 1%, but the top point one percent pay over 18% of all federal income taxes.

The top 1 percent pay over 38% of all federal income taxes.

The top 5% pay over 58% of all income taxes.

The top 50% of all tax payers pay a whopping 97% of all federal income taxes.

And, the bottom 50% of wage earners pay less than 3% of all income taxes.

Not counting the fact that the higher wage earners also pay more tax, mainly because they buy more crap, the tax burden is over whelmingly slanted against the people who earn money,…….. and lost in this debate is the fact that the higher wage earners are the people expanding their businesses, hiring more people, paying more employer federal tax contributions as well as a large tax burden for SSI, Worksmens Comp and now the Obamanation National Healthcare Mandate.

So I ask again, just who is the rich and what is their “fair share”?

A Look into the Future?

Thanksgiving 2022. "Winston, come into the dining room, it's time to eat," Julia yelled to her husband. "In a minute, honey, it's a tie score," he answered. Actually Winston wasn't very interested in the traditional holiday football game between Detroit and Washington. Ever since the government passed the Civility in Sports Statute of 2017, outlawing tackle football for its "unseemly violence" and the "bad example it sets for the rest of the world", Winston was far less of a football fan than he used to be. Two-hand touch wasn't nearly as exciting. Yet it wasn't the game that Winston was uninterested in.

It was more the thought of eating another Tofu Turkey. Even though it was the best type of Veggie Meat available after the government revised the American Anti-Obesity Act of 2018, adding fowl to the list of federally-forbidden foods, (which already included potatoes, cranberry sauce, and mincemeat pie), it wasn't anything like real turkey.

And ever since the government officially changed the name of "Thanksgiving Day" to "A National Day of Atonement" in 2020, to officially acknowledge the Pilgrims' historically brutal treatment of Native Americans, the holiday had lost a lot of its luster.

Eating in the dining room was also a bit daunting. The unearthly gleam of government-mandated CFL light bulbs made the Tofu Turkey look even weirder than it actually was, and the room was always cold. Ever since Congress passed the Power Conservation Act of 2016, mandating all thermostats - which were monitored and controlled by the electric company - be kept at 68 degrees, every room on the north side of the house was barely tolerable throughout the entire winter.

Still, it was good getting together with family. Or at least most of the family.

Winston missed his mother, who passed on in October, when she had used up her legal allotment of life-saving medical treatment. He had had many heated conversations with the Regional Health Consortium, spawned when the private insurance market finally went bankrupt, and everyone was forced into the government health care program.

And though he demanded she be kept on her treatment, it was a futile effort. "The RHC's resources are limited", explained the government bureaucrat Winston spoke with on the phone. "Your mother received all the benefits to which she was entitled. I'm sorry for your loss."

Ed couldn't make it either. He had forgotten to plug in his electric car last night, the only kind available after the Anti-Fossil Fuel Bill of 2021 outlawed the use of the combustion engines - for everyone but government officials. The fifty mile round trip was about ten miles too far, and Ed didn't want to spend a frosty night on the road somewhere between here and there.

Thankfully, Winston's brother, John, and his wife were flying in. Winston made sure that the dining room chairs had extra cushions for the occasion. No one complained more than John about the pain of sitting down so soon after the government-mandated cavity searches at airports, which severely aggravated his hemorrhoids.

Ever since a terrorist successfully smuggled a cavity bomb onto a jetliner, the TSA told Americans the added "inconvenience" was an "absolute necessity" in order to stay "one step ahead of the terrorists."

Winston's own body had grown accustomed to such probing ever since the government expanded their scope to just about anywhere a crowd gathered, via Anti-Profiling Act of 2022. That law made it a crime to single out any group or individual for "unequal scrutiny," even when probable cause was involved.

Thus, cavity searches at malls, train stations, bus depots, etc., etc., had become almost routine. Almost. The Supreme Court is reviewing the statute, but most Americans expect a Court composed of six progressives and three conservatives to leave the law intact.

"A living Constitution is extremely flexible", said the Court's eldest member, Elena Kagan. " Europe has had laws like this one for years. We should learn from their example", she added.

Winston's thoughts turned to his own children. He got along fairly well with his 12-year-old daughter, Brittany, mostly because she ignored him. Winston had long ago surrendered to the idea that she could text anyone at any time, even during Atonement Dinner.

Their only real confrontation had occurred when he limited her to 50,000 texts a month, explaining that was all he could afford. She whined for a week, but got over it.

His 36-year-old son, Howard, was another matter altogether. Perhaps it was the constant bombarding he received growing up in public school that global warming, the bird flu, terrorism, or any of a number of other calamities were "just around the corner", but Jason had developed a kind of nihilistic attitude that ranged between simmering surliness and outright hostility.

It didn't help that Howard had reported his father to the police for smoking a cigarette in the house, an act made criminal by the Smoking Control Statute of 2018, which outlawed smoking anywhere within 500 feet of another human being.

Winston paid the $5,000 fine, which might have been considered excessive before the American dollar became virtually worthless as a result of QE13.

The latest round of quantitative easing the federal government initiated was, once again, to "spur economic growth." This time, they promised to push unemployment below its years-long rate of 18%, but Winston was not particularly hopeful.

Yet the family had a lot for which to be thankful, Winston thought, before remembering it was a Day of Atonement. At least, he had his memories.

He felt a twinge of sadness when he realized his children would never know what life was like in the Good Old Days, long before government promises to make life "fair for everyone" realized their full potential.

Winston, like so many of his fellow Americans, never realized how much things could change when they didn't happen all at once, but little by little, so people could get used to them.

He wondered what might have happened if the public had stood up while there was still time, maybe back around 2011, when all the real nonsense began.

"Maybe we wouldn't be where we are today if we'd just said 'enough is enough' when we had the chance," he thought.

Maybe so, Winston. Maybe so.

Cowboys are Observant

A cowboy from Texas attended a social function where Barack Obama was trying to gather support for his Economic Plan. When Obama discovered the cowboy was from President Bush's home area, he started to belittle him by talking in a southern drawl and single syllable words.

As he was doing that, he kept swatting at some flies that were buzzing around his head. The cowboy yell's out, "Y'all havin' some problem with them circle flies?"

Obama stopped talking and said, "Well, yes, if that's what they're called, but I've never heard of circle flies."

"Well, sir," the cowboy replies, "Circle flies hang around ranches. They're called circle flies because they're almost always found circling around the back end of a horse."

"Oh," Obama replies as he goes back to rambling.

But, a moment later he stops and bluntly asks, "Are you calling me a horse's ass?"

"No, sir," the cowboy replies, "I have too much respect for the citizens of this country to call their president a horse's ass."

"That's a good thing," Obama responds and begins rambling on once more.

After a long pause, the cowboy, in loud drawn out manner says, "Hard to fool them flies, though. "
