Quotes for the 112th Congress

I don't know about you, but I'd like the incoming 112th Congress to blow up the following quotes and tape them to the walls of their offices as they are seated and have to deal with massive Federal debt, devaluation of the dollar, inflation of commodities and the burdening tax structure that is bad for small businesses who are the backbone of this country's free market and job creation system. We cannot sustain this. Unfortunately the pain to correct this course, and save us from going the way of Rome, is going to have to felt by all.

"The best way to look at the U.S. Tax Code is like it's a three legged mule. It's ugly, deformed, and doesn't do much good for anybody." - Dick Armey, member of the U.S. House of Representatives, 1985 - 2003.

"You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift. You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred. You cannot build character and courage by taking away people's initiative and independence. You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves." - Abraham Lincoln, 1809-1865
