Tax Simplification by Newt Gingrich

I think that no matter his personal issues with multiple divorces and campaign staff reported deserting him early in the campaign, former Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich remains one of the smartest, and most experienced Republicans candidates. He is starting to get a lot more support in the Republican primary, practically quadrupling his numbers in the last two months.  Here is what he has to say about Tax Simplification:

A significant amount of attention during this campaign has focused on simplifying the tax code. There is no question that our tax code has become a burden to the American people and must be reformed. In our 21st Century Contract With America, we address tax simplification in a way that is both bold and pragmatic. As Speaker of the House of Representatives, I led the effort to reform welfare, resulting in 66% of those on welfare getting a job or going to school. So I know what it takes to actually pass historic reforms. The 21st Century Contract With America has a tax simplification plan that I am uniquely qualified to pass through Congress. Here is the plan you have helped us develop:

All tax filers would be given the option to pay their income taxes under the current income tax provisions or choose to pay income taxes under a lower single rate of taxation of 15% or less with limited deductions.

This optional flat tax reform could save taxpayers more than an estimated $400 billion in compliance costs each year such as record keeping, paying for tax advice, and filling out complicated tax returns. This savings doesn't even account for eliminating the countless hours of aggravation and worry and the sheer complexity of tax compliance. These tax compliance savings are the functional equivalent of a permanent, pro-growth tax cut and will provide a substantial boost to our annual growth rate.

This faster, flatter, fairer tax structure would also be simple: tax returns could be done on a single page. Subtract from your income a standard deduction and deductions for charity and home ownership, multiply the result by the fixed single rate of taxation of 15% or less, and the process is over. Gone will be the stressful hours spent figuring out whether you qualify for this or that deduction. No more headaches trying to determine where estimated tax payments go. Tax preparation fees could be money spent on something more rewarding.

Such an optional flat tax system would create a new standard deduction, which would be above the established poverty level, meaning an optional flat tax would not unfairly target the poor. And because the flat tax is optional, it does not raise taxes on a single person or unfairly impact seniors or lower income workers.

Once we combine these pro-growth tax reforms with my other reform proposals for welfare reform, social security, and lower spending contained in the 21st Century Contract with America, we will experience a stunning and swift turnaround in the economy.

Elmo to Deploy to the Middle East

The U.S Government is reported deploying Elmo from Sesame Street to the Middle East to help teach Radical Islamists about tolerance. Fox News commented that this needs to be a Special Forces Elmo.

I waiting on the Government to announce a Sesame Street Special Operations Unit. Imagine the havoc a fully trained and equipped Cookie Monster could bring on terrorist camps! But knowing this administration, the unit would become a public affairs type unit, dolling out candy and dollars, while the Radical Islamists built vest bombs.

More Liberal Double Standards

With the turn to violence and vandalism across this country at many of the "Occupy Whatever" movement protests, there are an increase in Leftist talking points calling the Tea Party a racist and violent organization. This is, of course, to re-direct observation of (obscure if you will) the issue of leftist anti-capitalistic violence. While is there NO evidence or proof of Tea Party racism nor violence at Tea Party rallies, the violence of the Occupy Movement in Oakland, not to mention the increasingly vulgar acts of vandalism at most of the other Occupy Protest locations cast a distinct difference between these two groups.  You never saw nasty, vile acts like people stuffing business trash cans with bags of human feces or jars of urine at Tea Party rallies like is reported by some many business at the Occupy Wall Street protests.   What to Occupy something?  Occupy a Job!

Shame on Nancy Pelosi and her comparisons of these two movements. Hey Nancy, you idiot, here's what the FBI calls a clue (sorry Wayne),...the Tea Party stands for smaller, more effective and efficient Government as well as the return to Constitutional values of individual property rights, free enterprise and deregulation from the burdensome Government over reach of powers. What does the Occupy movement stand for? Nobody really knows except for entitlements and government give-me's, taxing the rich, vandalism and total disrespect for other people's rights especially those who disagree, and double especially standing against authority......ten injured Oakland police officers will attest to that.

Then we have Michael Moore, who has more chins than Carter's Got Pills (that means a butt load for you young people who fail to get the comparison). Moore the biggest, or is it fattest?, supporter of the occupy movement, besides George Soros and SEIU, is out there running his big, fat mouth and rapidly becoming the biggest hypocrite in history with his bilking of the American population of more than $50 million dollars to see his crap movies.

And then we can complete the newest look at Liberal double standards with what the Left has done to Herman Cain. My God!,....there are three anonymous people making sexual harassment accusations against Mr Cain in complete contradiction against the right to affront your accusers. Lawyers for these three women attack Cain while saying their clients want to remain in the shadows even after the National Restaurant Association gave the lawyers permission for their clients to break the confidentiality agreements and speak in public about their accusations. It's easy to cast allegation when you can remain hidden.

At least when Bill Clinton was accused of sexual assault,..numerous times by the way,...and when Barney Frank was accused by young men of homosexual come-ons, at least these accusers stood up and identified themselves right away.

Someone asked me a rhetorical question the other day,.....Don't they (the Left) have any Shame? The answer is obvious,...they don't.
