Who Is Obama?

Who Is Obama? Nobody knows because his basic entire history, except from what he wants you to know from his books, has been "sealed". Even the most blind and liberal of Obama supporters have to question why Obama's records (and never any other Presidents in history) are sealed and hidden to such a degree. Anyway, Roger Kimball wrote an excellent article for pjmedia.com call "Who Is Barack Obama?"

Here is the article from Roger Kimball:

So now Chris Matthews isn’t the only one experiencing a little thrill when he thinks about Barack (omit middle name) Obama. The recent revelation that from the early 1990s until the day before yesterday—or, to be more accurate, until Obama made his decision to run for president—a biographical pamphlet circulated by his literary agents described him as having been “born in Kenya” has been setting the world of Twitter atwitter.

What should we think about that? An agency spokesman who claims to have been responsible for the “born in Kenya” wheeze has publicly said that it was a mistake, a typographical error, a slip of the pen that just went “unchecked” for, um, sixteen-seventeen years. I can understand that. She meant to write “Hawaii” and wrote “Kenya” instead. Could happen to anyone. They look and sound enough alike, don’t they, that no one noticed. You meant to write “there” and you wrote “their” instead. You meant to write “cup” and you wrote “floccinaucinihilipilification” instead. No one—no one at the literary agency, not the author himself—could be expected to notice. You understand that, right? Well, maybe that is an unprofitable line of inquiry.

However it happened, the take-away here is not that Obama was really born in Kenya. As my friend Roger Simon points out in “The Mystery of the Kenyan Birth,” the noteworthy thing is that it is one more puff in the cloud of unknowing that surrounds the president. It’s been pretty foggy in those precincts for some time.

During the 2008 campaign, many of us asked the question: “Who is Barack Obama?” It wasn’t a question that Obama’s official PR firms—The New York Times, CNN, MSNBC, etc.–were interested in , no sirree, but it was a question that some of us pajamas-wearing-bitter-enders asked ourselves when we weren’t snake handling or nuzzling our firearms. It’s a question that has recurred as more and more pieces of the Obama jigsaw puzzle have worked their way loose and exposed little gaps or fissures in the story. The most recent one concerned Ms. Composite, the girlfriend who didn’t exactly exist. But there have been other revelations, or, rather, revelations of non-revelation. Turns out the book filed under “Autobiography” ought to have been filed under “Teen Fantasy,” “Mystery,” or some other rubric in the fiction section.

Since 2008, the meticulous Stanley Kurtz has patiently been sifting through what materials are publicly available to answer the question Who Is Barack Obama? His book Radical-in-Chief: Barack Obama and the Untold Story of American Socialism is essential reading for anyone the least bit curious about the political history and ideological commitments of the most powerful man in the world.

But not everyone shares Mr. Kurtz’s curiosity. At the beginning of the Metaphysics, Aristotle observes than human beings are by nature curious animals: they ask questions and want to know the truth about the world around them. But not all men. One of the great oddnesses of the 2008 campaign was the code of omerta enforced by the the legacy media about anything having to do with Obama’s past. Where was he born? Don’t know, don’t care. What were his college years like? Can’t you move on to something important, like the time Mitt Romney ragged some hippie in high school? Why did Obama say that former Weatherman Bill Ayers was “just a guy in the neighborhood” when he was plainly an important political mentor, if not also the ghostwriter, for the future president? And on and on and on.

There are a lot of questions to be asked about Barack Obama. Why are his college records sealed? Why can’t we see a certified copy of his birth certificate? Why are his medical records sealed? I’ve been told that his Social Security registration was issued by Connecticut, which would be odd, but cannot check because that too is sealed. Obama worked as a lawyer, but we don’t know who he worked for because his client list is sealed. Why is it that Michelle Obama can no longer practice as an attorney? We know the fact but not the reason.

As I say, last time around, general infatuation guaranteed that Obama got more or less a free pass from the legacy media. I suspect there will be much more curiosity as the summer progresses and we get into the campaign. For one thing, the nimbus of inviolability around Obama has been seriously breached. He is no longer the pristine knight come to lower the oceans, fix the economy, and “fundamentally transform” the United States of America into a green paradise where everyone suckles happily at the federal mammary gland except the evil coal producers who are miserable bankrupts.

No, I suspect that even The Washington Post, even The New York Times, will have to take a peek or two under the covers of the tale of this international man of mystery. They’ll more or less have to. Alternative sources of information are much more potent now than they were in 2008. It matters not if The New York Times closes ranks and buries a story. There are too many other instruments of disinterment. The news will out. And the more people know about Barack Obama, the more, I predict, they will wonder how this man became president of the United States. As a first, preliminary spur to curiosity, I share the following image just sent to me by a friend...click on the image if you want to see a larger, cleaner copy.

  1. Re: "Why are his college records sealed? "

Answer: They aren't sealed. They are simply private, like all college records. (Romney has not shown his either, nor did Clinton or Reagan or JFK or any president) Some candidates have shown grade point averages, but not detailed transcripts.

Re: "Why can’t we see a certified copy of his birth certificate?"

Answer: We have seen a certified copy of his birth certificate. He was the first US president to have shown it. And in fact he showed certified copies (with the seal on the back, where it is supposed to be) of both his short form and long form birth certificate, and the facts on them were confirmed by the officials in Hawaii repeatedly and further confirmed by the Index Data (a public file showing the birth certificates that are on file and showing one for Obama under 1961) and by the birth notices in the Hawaii newspapers in 1961.

Re: "Why are his medical records sealed? "

All medical records are private, not "sealed." Romney has not shown his medical records either.

Re: "I’ve been told that his Social Security registration was issued by Connecticut, which would be odd, but cannot check because that too is sealed. "

All social security record are private, of course. But we do know that the Connecticut SS number was caused by a data entry error. SS numbers were generated by the zip code of the applicant’s address. Obama’s address in Hawaii was in zip code 96814, and the zip code for Danbury, CT. is 06814. Notice that they are one digit apart?

Re: "Obama worked as a lawyer, but we don’t know who he worked for because his client list is sealed. "

All client lists are private. Ever hear of attorney-client privacy?

Re: "Why is it that Michelle Obama can no longer practice as an attorney? We know the fact but not the reason. "

The reason is that she, and Obama, voluntarily gave up their law licenses because to keep them valid in Illinois requires being available to do pro bono work, and they were and are both too busy to do that.

  2. Nice try anonymous. The birth certificate has been shown to have numerous inconsistencies on it. Answer how he traveled to Pakistan and how he received foreign student aid. We're still waiting on those two. BTW, it's not one digit it's five, although the difference of a key stroke between 0 and 9 is very close. Yet why is the type set not the same in all areas of the birt certificate?

  3. Only birther "experts" have claimed that there is something wrong with Obama's birth certificate. No official has. Hawaii, which is the expert on its birth certificates, has not made any claim that it is forged. In fact, officials in Hawaii have repeatedly confirmed the facts on Obama's birth certificate.

The birther self-described "experts" have not shown that they are experts, and they have not shown that they are objective and impartial. So, they are simply the claims of people who hate Obama---and that is why Ann Coulter, Glen Beck, Bill O'Reilly and the National Review do not believe them.

    http://www.obamabirthbook.com/http:/www.obamabirthbook.com/2012/03/on-the-release-of-report-from-sheriff-joe-arpaio-stating-barack-obamas-birth-certificate-is-a-forgery/

Nathan Goulding, chief technology officer of the National Review magazine, dismissed the matter of “layered components” found in the White House PDF by suggesting “that whoever scanned the birth certificate in Hawaii forgot to turn off the OCR setting on the scanner.” and adding “I’ve confirmed that scanning an image, converting it to a PDF, optimizing that PDF, and then opening it up in Illustrator, does in fact create layers similar to what is seen in the birth certificate PDF. You can try it yourself at home.”

    And:

Dr. Neil Krawetz, an imaging software analysis author and experienced examiner of questioned images, said: “The PDF released by the White House shows no sign of digital manipulation or alterations. I see nothing that appears to be suspicious.”

    And:

Ivan Zatkovich, who has testified in court as a technology expert, and consultant to WorldNetDaily: “All of the modifications to the PDF document that can be identified are consistent with someone enhancing the legibility of the document.”

In contrast to the claims by birther zealots, three Republican and several Democrat officials in Hawaii have repeatedly confirmed that there is a birth certificate on file for Obama and that it shows that the long-form birth certificate published by the White House is accurate. Their confirmation is further confirmed by the Index Data--a list of the birth certificates on file by year, showing one for Obama in 1961:

    http://www.cleveland.com/nation/index.ssf/2011/04/in_hawaii_its_easy_to_get_birt.html

And these confirmations are still further confirmed by the birth notices that appeared in the Health Bureau Statistics section of the newspapers in 1961. As the name implies the notices in the Health Bureau Statistics section only came from the DOH of Hawaii, and at the time the DOH only sent out birth notices for children born in Hawaii.

The notion of Obama’s mother, late in pregnancy, traveling alone (WND has shown that Obama senior was in Hawaii on August 4, 1961) from Hawaii where there are good hospitals, to Kenya, where there was Yellow Fever and bad hospitals, and doing so without any INS record of her leaving the USA or any record of her arriving in Kenya—is absurd. And the fact that there is a birth certificate showing that she gave birth in Kapiolani Hospital in Honolulu makes it even more absurd.

Oh, and there were a total of 63 people who went to Kenya from the USA in 1961 and only 21 people who came from Kenya to the USA in 1961. Yet birthers want us to believe that Obama and his mother were two of the 21----despite the enormous cost and risk of such a trip. And despite the fact that there is neither US documents showing that Obama's mother traveled outside of the USA or Kenyan documents showing that she arrived in Kenya AND a birth certificate showing that Obama was born in Hawaii.

  4. Dr Conspiracy lists the following points:

    1. Barack Obama released his official Hawaiian birth certificate on June 12, 2008.
    2. Obama’s parents lived in Hawaii (a short trip to Kapi’olani Hospital) and most of the time children are born where their parents live.
    3. The Immigration files of Barack Obama Sr. categorically state that he did not leave the country in 1961.
    4. The INS statistical report for July 1, 1961 – June 30 states that NO American citizens traveled to the US by air on a trip starting in Kenya that whole year! [An in fact only 21 people total came using sea and air, only 21]
    5. Dr. Chiyome Fukino, Republican, Director of the Hawaii Department of Health personally inspected Obama’s original birth certificate in the files in Hawaii and said it was there and Obama was born in Hawaii. Her statement is on the State web site, and she was interviewed on CNN confirming.
    6. Dr. Alvin Onaka, Chief of Vital Records, has sent a signed and sealed verification of Obama’s birth in Hawaii to the Secretary of State of Arizona, and it now resides on the Arizona State web site.
    7. Dr. Onaka has sent a signed and sealed verification filed with the Federal Court in Mississippi stating that he examined the long form PDF file on the White House web site and that it matches the original in the Department files in every respect.
    8. Dr. Loretta Fuddy, Democrat, Director of the Hawaii Department of Health, has stated on the Department web site that Barack Obama’s birth certificate is in the files, that she has personally inspected it, and that a copy was provided to the President (a couple of days before the White House released it).
    9. The Long Form birth certificate original certified copy was presented to the Press at the White House news conference, and one correspondent, Savannah Guthrie, snapped a photo of it and stated that she “felt the raised seal.” It is irresponsible to say that the long form hasn’t been released.
    10. An August 1961 hand-written memo from William Wood II in the State Department files for Obama Sr. state that Barack Obama II was born on August 4, 1961 in Honolulu.
    11. Obama’s birth was reported in 1961 in two competing Honolulu newspapers, from a list provided by the Health Department. A long-time reporter interviewed by CNN stated that parents could not submit names to these columns. Obama’s name appears in the same order in both papers, proving that they came from the same list.
    12. A trip to Africa would have been prohibitively expensive in 1961, and would have been extremely arduous (3 days) for a pregnant woman.
    13. Barbara Nelson recalls a conversation with Dr. West who practiced at Kapi’olani who told her that “Stanley had a baby.”
    14. Jon Chessoni, first Secretary at the Kenyan Embassy in Washington, DC, said, speaking of inquiries the Embassy received about President Obama being born in Kenya: “When this matter first came up, the Kenyan government did its research and confirmed that these are all baseless claims.”
    15. Hawaiian Law in 1961 did not allow issuance of a birth certificate except for persons born in Hawaii.
    16. Barack Obama appears in the 1961 bound birth index available for inspection at the Department of Health in Hawaii. (Several videos, including one from CNN confirm).

  5. I forgot to answer this:

"Answer how he traveled to Pakistan and how he received foreign student aid. "

He traveled to Pakistan on an ordinary US passport, which Pakistan accepted in 1981, when Obama went there. It is a birther fantasy that Pakistan barred US tourists from visiting (they were eager to get tourist dollars) or that the USA banned US citizens from visiting Pakistan.

There is absolutely no evidence that Obama was given foreign student aid. The idea comes from an April Fool's article originally written on April 1, 2009.
