The Election, Unemployment and the Economy

I think most of us agree that for except for the ideology oriented voters, the state of the economy is the primary issue in this pivotal Presidential election which will conclude Tuesday night as election returns come in from across the country and this Nation will know who will be our leader for the next four years.

One of the key numbers or statistics from which many people judged the economy is the unemployment rate. Obama promised the country a rate below 8% and for much if his term it has been above 10%.

Changs in the way the government cacluates the unemployment rate, not counting people who have been unemployed for double digit months then giving up looking for work are no longer calculated.

With all other indicators such as gross numbers of people losing their jos, people starting work and the Country's growth rate at very dismal numbers, imagine the suprise economists had when the Government announced that September's numbers brought the National employment rate from 8.1% to 7.8%, a unprecedented drop especially given other dismal economic figures.

Now we know the raw numbers for September of over 400,000 people losing their jobs and only 140,000 people fidning work. Yet the Government figure for the unemployment rate go in the opposite direction.

Today we received the figures for October, from a Fox News article:

The final monthly jobs report before Election Day offered a mixed bag of numbers that would surely become political putty for the presidential candidates, with the unemployment rate ticking up to 7.9 percent but the economy adding a better-than-average 171,000 jobs.

The October numbers allow President Obama to argue the economy is technically growing under his watch. At the same time, they allow Mitt Romney to argue that the new jobs are not making much of a dent in the unemployment problem.

While 171,000 jobs were added in October, the number of unemployed grew by roughly the same amount -- to 12.3 million.

Both candidates are expected to address the report at campaign stops Friday, four days before the election.

Nothing to Like About the Obamas

The other evening on my twitter, a person asked me why I didn't like the Obama's? Specifically I was asked: "I have to ask, why do you hate the Obama's? It seems personal, not policy related. You even dissed (d...isrespect) their Christmas family picture."

The truth is I do not like the Obamas, what they represent, their ideology, and I certainly do not like his policies and legislation. I've made no secret of my contempt for the Obamas. As I responded to the person who asked me the aforementioned question, I don't like them because they are committed to the fundamental change of my/our country into what can only be regarded as a Communist state.

I don't hate them per definition, but I condemn them because they are the worst kind of racialists, they are elitist Leninists with contempt for traditional America. They display disrespect for the sanctity of the office he holds, and for those who are willing to admit same, Michelle Obama's raw contempt for white America is transpicuous. I don't like them because they comport themselves as emperor and empress.

I expect, no I demand respect, for the Office of President and a love of our country and her citizenry from the leader entrusted with the governance of same. President and Mrs. Reagan displayed an unparalleled love for the country and her people.

The Reagan's made Americans feel good about themselves and about what we could accomplish. Obama's arrogance by appointing 32 leftist czars and constantly bypassing congress is impeachable. Eric Holder is probably the MOST incompetent and arrogant DOJ head to ever hold the job. Could you envision President Reagan instructing his Justice Department to act like jack-booted thugs?

Presidents are politicians and all politicians are known and pretty much expected to manipulate the truth, if not outright lie, but even using that low standard, the Obama's have taken lies, dishonesty, deceit, mendacity, subterfuge and obfuscation to new depths. They are verbally abusive to the citizenry, and they display an animus for civility.

I do not like them, because they both display bigotry overtly, as in the case of Harvard Professor Louis Gates, when he accused the Cambridge Police of acting stupidly, and her code speak pursuant to not being able to be proud of America. I view that statement and that mindset as an insult to those who died to provide a country where a Kenyan, his illegal alien relatives, and his alleged progeny, could come and not only live freely, but rise to the highest, most powerful, position in the world.

Michelle Obama is free to hate and disparage whites because Americans of every description paid with their blood to ensure her right to do same. I have a saying, that "the only reason a person hides things, is because they have something to hide." No president in history has spent millions of dollars to keep his records and his past sealed.

And what the two of them have shared has been proved to be lies. He lied about when and how they met, he lied about his mother's death and problems with insurance, Michelle lied to a crowd pursuant to nearly $500,000 bank stocks they inherited from his family. He has lied about his father's military service, about the civil rights movement, ad nausea. He lied to the world about the Supreme Court in a State of the Union address. He berated and publicly insulted a sitting Congressman. He has surrounded himself with the most rabidly, radical, socialist academicians today.

He opposed rulings that protected women and children that even Planned Parenthood did not seek to support. He is openly hostile to business and aggressively hostile to Israel. His wife treats being the First Lady as her personal American Express Black Card (arguably the most prestigious credit card in the world). I condemn them because, as people are suffering, losing their homes, their jobs, their retirements, he and his family are arrogantly showing off their life of entitlement - as he goes about creating and fomenting class warfare.

I don't like them, and I neither apologize nor retreat from my public condemnation of them and of his policies. We should condemn them for the disrespect they show our people, for his willful and unconstitutional actions pursuant to obeying the Constitutional parameters he is bound by, and his willful disregard for Congressional authority.

Dislike for them has nothing to do with the color of their skin; it has everything to do with their behavior, attitudes, and policies. And I have open scorn for their constantly playing the race card.

It is my intention to do all within my ability to ensure their reign is one term. I could go on, but let me conclude with this. I condemn in the strongest possible terms the media for refusing to investigate them, as they did President Bush and President Clinton, and for refusing to label them for what they truly are. There is no scenario known to man, whereby a white president and his wife could ignore laws, flaunt their position, and lord over the people, as these two are permitted out of fear for their color.

As I wrote in a syndicated column titled, "Nero In The White House" - "Never in my life, inside or outside of politics, have I witnessed such dishonesty in a political leader. He is the most mendacious political figure I have ever witnessed. Even by the low standards of his presidential predecessors, his narcissistic, contumacious arrogance is unequalled. Using Obama as the bar, Nero would have to be elevated to sainthood...

Many in America wanted to be proud when the first person of color was elected president, but instead, they have been witness to a congenital liar, a woman who has been ashamed of America her entire life, failed policies, intimidation, and a commonality hitherto not witnessed in political leaders. He and his wife view their life at our expense as an entitlement - while America's people go homeless, hungry and unemployed."

2013 - the Year of The Tax?

No doubt that if Barack Obama is re-elected then not only will obamacare continue to stand as the law and bring the increases of taxes down upon the already over burdened American people, but also a new Obama term bring an end to the temporary Bush tax cuts which have been the only government action that has benefitted the middle class.

With Obama winning another term, and despite the poor economy, you will never hear him say (again) that imposing new or higher taxes is the wrong thing to do in a weak economy. You will hear him say things like: "Everyone needs to pay their fair share", then under his breath "and for you rich people that fair share is going to be a much, much higher percentage",.....people making $200,00 or couples making $250,000 or more will be taxed at the 39.5% rate - and remember this tax is just for federal incme tax. It does not include all the other taxes we pay which bring out tax burden to half or hat we make and more.

Don't forget about Joe Biden outright lying at the Vice-Presidential debates when he said "Obama would only raise taxes on people making $1,000,000 a year or more." Joe Biden got a pass from the legacy media about this lie.

The Democrats, trying to paint themselves as looking out for the middle class, pushed a temporary reduction in the Social Security payroll tax, which was very stupid since the relief it provided was small and the social security program that is going bankrupt, now just alittle quicker.  But this temp pay roll tax cut was in keeping with their general trait of trying to bankrupt this country. Just look at three main points:

1. No Federal Government budget is three years!!
2. Over $1 trillion in deficit spending per year since Obama came into office.
3. A federal debt, burdening our children and grandchildren, at over $16 trillion and growing every second.

Anyway, when Romney gets elected and the temporary social security payroll tax expires just watch the cockroaches,....I mean the Democrats,....try to paint him as a middle class taxer.

Political Conversation with a Young Woman

I was listening to Mark Levin last night when he admonished everyone to get out and talk to people about what is at stake in this years Presidential election. So he gave me the idea to recount a conversation I had with a 29 year old young lady. The conservation started about the argument to legalize drugs or NOT!,....the Tea Party,.....illegal immigration,.....and then into alternative fuels, where I pick up the conversation.....

Me: "You're right, we need to be able to use waste products to create bio fuels. I fully support research into that."

Young Lady: "Yeah but, the technology is current. Lots of people make biofuels now for diesel vehicles."


Me: "You are correct, but the production costs are so high to manufacture bio fuels is that conventional petroleum products are infinently cheaper."

Young Lady: "Well at least you can say that Obama is on the right track developing solar and wind power so we don't have to pollute so much."


Me: "Obama hasn't done anything except give away tax payers money to solar firms that have all failed, and failed to pay back the government, again tax payers, money."

Young Lady: "Well, Obama is also drilling more oil, so I guess he is hedging his bets. I heard or read that under his leadership there is more drilling than ever before."


Me: "First of all, leadership is a contradiction in terms when used in the same sentance with Obama unless you also use an adjective such as failed. Secondly there is more drilling being done, but all on private lands despite Obama's efforts and efforts of his Justice Dept and the EPA to keep these drills from being struck. Thirdly, there is much less oil drilling on public lands and waters than every before since Obama through up EPA road blocks to drilling. Plus the price of gasoline is twice as high now than it was under Bush. That's energy progress?"

Young Lady: "If this is true, then how come I haven't read about this or see this on the news?"


Me: "Well,......try this experiment. Listen to CNN, ABC, CBS, MSNBC and NBC objectively and see how many pro Obama and pro-Romney and how many anti-Obama and anti- Romney articles or news segments there are. I think a rational person will conclude that all these legacy news sources will be decidely slanted towards projecting favorable coverage of Obama and un-favorable coverage of Romney.

Young Lady: "How is the average person supposed to know what is truth or not?"


Me: [What I wanted to say: "If Obama's or a liberal's lips are moving - they are lying"]....what I did say: "It is up to you to become an educated voter. You have an obligation to vote and you have an implied obligation to be educated before you vote."

Young Lady: "Yeah, you're right. I need to be informed on the issues. How do I go about doing that?"


Me: "I look at all different sources. I suspect the sources that use judgemental verbiage as opposed to just reporting on the news. I am also a conservative and identify myself with the tea party so some of the news sources I follow may not be as diverse as you would like. Fox News, hands down, is the most objective. Do not confuse their commentators such as Hannity with objective reporting. While I feel Hannity tells the truth, he is a conservative commentator.

Young Lady: "Well, I just don't want to watch nothing but people tearing Obama down."


Me: "Fair enough,...but can you give me one,....just one thing that Obama has done to make this Country better other than become the first black President and therefore seemingly overcoming the racial ceiling?"

Young Lady: "Passing Obamacare has to his premier accomplishment."


Me: "Bear with me a minute,.....I am going to ask a couple of questions then give you the answer.......When the Obamacare bill was finished and went before Congress was it published on the internet for 48 hours so the public could read and provide comment? and Who actually passed Obamacare"?

Me: "The Obamacare bill was passed by a Committe missing any Republican representation. The Democrats shut the Republicans out of the process. Then sent the bill to Congress for a vote. The republicans asked to read the 2,700+ page bill before they voted. The Democrats would not allow it and demanded an immediate vote. This is where Nancy Pelosi, then Speaker of the House, declared that 'we must pass the bill to find out what is in it'. The Democrats had a majority in both houses,...passed the bill, then sent it to the President for signature. The rest is unconstitutional history."


Young Lady: "Well, I don't know that to be a fact."


Me: "You have to educate yourself,......continue to bear with me a minute,.....Does Obama say that Romney is going to destroy Medicare for Seniors?"

Young Lady: "Yes".


Me: "Romney and Ryan declare they will leave Medicare alone for seniors and those 55 years and older, but need to fix Medicare because it is going broke. Did you know that Obama took out over $700 Billion dollars from Medicare to fund care for welfare recipitants and illegal aliens under Obamacare?"

Young Lady: "No. I haven't heard that."


Me: "Well, I guess you have some work to do".

I said goodbyes and left. This young lady talked to wife afterwards and said "your husband gave me a lot to think about. It seems that the truth is hard to find."

My wife replied " Indeed it is.........if you're a Liberal"

Unless your head has been in the sand, you know that Donald Trump is probably going to run for President as a Republican, not withstanding his less than substantial conservative credentials. My brother, Rush, said on his program Thursday that Donald Trump, in taking the fight directly to President Barack Obama, has provided a winning blueprint for defeating him in 2012.

Rush was referring to the way in which Trump — think what you will about him and his politics — has boldly challenged President Obama on a number of issues, including the notorious birth certificate fracas, obviously unconcerned about fallout from the liberal media.

The issue here is not Obama's birth certificate; it is Trump's aggressive, offensive posture in challenging Obama across the board. He rightly recognizes that America's financial condition is in shambles and contends that Obama's incoherent approach to foreign policy is making the U.S. a laughingstock in the international community.

Trump is not my candidate for a number of reasons, including that I don't believe he's been reliably conservative over the years, but I have no doubt that Republicans can learn great lessons from his direct, fearless approach.

The first application of the Trump blueprint should be the congressional Republicans' approach to the budget war, in both the short-term battles over the umpteenth continuing resolution and the battle over Rep. Paul Ryan's long-term budget proposal.

Too many Republicans have paralyzed themselves with fear about the potential negative fallout from a government shutdown over this year's budget. They believe Bill Clinton successfully pinned the blame on Newt Gingrich over the shutdowns of 1995 and 1996 and greatly damaged GOP electoral prospects as a result. They believe the liberal media will be able to crucify Republicans.

Let me tell you, in a nutshell, why I believe Republicans must not succumb to their fear and compromise on the $61 billion and why my conservative colleagues should not be squeamish about this path.

* It's not clear that Republicans lost the PR war over the budget battles of the '90s — a point Michael Barone made in a recent column.
* Besides, today is radically different from 1995-96, especially in terms of the catastrophic financial crisis that hangs over this country as the flames of hellfire hung over readers of Jonathan Edwards' "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God." Even the co-chairmen of the bipartisan budget commission acknowledge this.
* Voters understand that we are in a crisis, and they cast their votes accordingly — resoundingly — in the November congressional elections.
* A government shutdown wouldn't be pleasant, but it would not be the end of the world. Essential services would remain in operation. On the other hand, our failing to get the financial crisis solved would be the end of the prosperous and free America we love.
* If a shutdown occurs, it will not be the Republicans' fault, and we don't have to accept a narrative to the contrary. For the first time since 1974, Democrats, despite their control of Congress, did not pass a budget last year, and it is their failure that has led to all the wrangling over these continuing resolutions. Moreover, the Democrats have not acted in good faith toward our national debt crisis, particularly respecting the trillions of dollars of unfunded liabilities with our entitlements programs.
* The liberal media have lost both credibility and clout since the '90s, while the alternative media have gained in both. Also, an information explosion has occurred, making facts instantly available — universally. Facts are on the Republicans' side.
* Obama and the Democrats have lost immeasurable popularity and credibility in the past few years, especially concerning the nation's financial health and the economy.
* Obama has been exposed for presenting recklessly erroneous information on his 10-year budget proposal (understated by $2.3 trillion) and Obamacare (understated by hundreds of billions of dollars). He has been AWOL on these budget negotiations and presented no plan for entitlement reform.
* Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., was caught saying that the Democrats' strategy was not to compromise with Republicans, but to torpedo them. Reports also surfaced that other Democratic leaders are strategizing for a shutdown because they have no authentic plan and have no ammunition against Republicans apart from demonizing them.
* Polls have shown that most people would prefer a government shutdown to Congress' failing to resolve the budget crisis. Separate polls have shown that even independents would favor a shutdown.
* What moderate conservatives fail to understand is that there is little downside to Republicans sticking to their guns but an enormous downside to their caving. The media will vilify Republicans as uncompassionate, whether or not there's a shutdown; just wait for the debate over Ryan's budget. But if Republicans breach their promise to make these cuts, there will be hell to pay with the base.

You don't defeat the Democrats by picking your battles; you fight them at every turn — thereby gaining political capital, not using it up.
Nothing would energize the base — and ultimately the majority of the electorate — more than Republicans standing their ground and fighting Obama aggressively. They've tried the milquetoast approach before and been punished for it — most recently in 2006. So, Republicans, man up and follow the blueprint.

Mike Pence (R-IN) - Possible Presidential Candidate

Mike Pence has got to on the short list for the Republican nomination to face Obama in the 2012 election. Pence believes in limited government and restoring the office of the presidency to an institution that safeguards the Constitution and the freedoms it provides to the American people, not one for social engineering and activism. The President is the last step in the protection of the American Way of Life. We are going to keep track of Mike Pence.
