Sequestration is, of course, the automatic federal spending cuts that are to begin next month and would gut our military and defense industries in their ability to develop and
manufacture critical equipment and machinery, equip military personnel and help maintain national security.

The Defense Department would lose $500 billion over a 10 year period, beginning with more than $50 billion cut to its 2013 budget.
